Allen definitely would've got $13mil+ on the open market.

Kinda surprised Wes didn't get the TMLE from us. Seems like he's left a lot of money on the table this year and when he signed with LAL

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

Allen is a steal for what we signed him for.

I found 11 guys who could play minutes in the playoffs (Marjon a ? for sure).

That's a stretch

Take out Allen, Brook, Carter, Ingles and probably MJB. Also, this puts Wes in an outsized role.

Per season? No one had that cap space. The players who were overpaid were signed through Bird rights.

Now that Allen is a bargain, we should cash him in, then replace him with someone with more defensive chops.

Bucks: KD and Joe Harris
Nets: Middleton, Brook, Grayson, Hill

Besides getting 3 Bucks starters (including an all-star and a very good center) in this deal, Nets also get to offload Harris' contract.
Bucks sign Robin Lopez

PG: Jrue, Carter, Vildoza
SG: Harris, Matthews, Rayjon Tucker
SF: KD, Pat, Beauchamp
PF: Giannis, Mamu, Ingles, Thanasis
C: Portis, Robin

That’s just it. All the guys this board wanted signed for between $8 to $20mm annual salary. We only had $6.5mm to offer under the TPMLE.

You can't take out Brook lol, and Allen and Wes not playing large minutes is fine.

Yesh it’s Stephen A and I don’t see it happening.

But would the Nets even consider Ayton + Bridges to be 2 All-Stars? What other teams in theory would offer that?

Holiday and Middleton downgrading to Simmons from Giannis would be unfortunate for them to say the least.

its weird to me how preoccupied this board is on defense. we just lost because middleton went down and we were totally skunked offensively while at the same time we picked up guys like carter and bembry for free at the deadline. just drafted a wing defender.

offense offense offense is what this team needed and what we should have spent money on today.

We signed Bobby Portis and Joe Ingles. Those are savvy offensive players.

We’re simply going to have to see if we can pull off a trade deadline deal to get anyone better.

Brook was an all-star with the Nets and had been a great player for them, he was probably one of their best draft picks.

Middleton, Brook, Grayson could be attractive to the Nets.

If there’s a way to get Durant while keeping Holiday we obviously do it.

I’m very high on Brook but this still seems like way too much to hope for even from a desperate Brooklyn team.

Then again it was weird that the Bucks were tied to Javale McGee considering we needed to be offering tpmle kind of dollars just to get his attention…
