TEAM USA vs SELECT TEAM scrimmage footage. Cooper Flag looks good against NBA comp.

Collier looks tough too.
That was a fun game

Not the same caliber player, but Collier is the Maxey of this class. Undervalued, underdrafted. Elite burst, strong frame, functional strength/athleticism.

Saw those flashes but Collier was getting beat by his man pretty easily. He also seemed frustrated with Keyonte, not sure how that pairing is going to work.

Collier is the better point guard..Keyonte needs to move off ball

Have high hopes for AJ Magic but would have been pretty happy with Collier at #23

I gotta see something from Cade this season. His offensive numbers scare me. He can’t shoot from anywhere or finish at the rim off drives. Also doesn’t get to the line.

It’s pretty cool that this year teams are wearing real uniforms and playing on NBA-ish courts for summer league. Seems like the cameras and presentation are improved as well. The big disappointment for me most years was how crappy and amateurish everything looked.

Being the Lakers coach when you have title expectations but clearly don’t have title talent is probably the most miserable coaching job in the league lol. That fanbase **** sucks and the organization has no issues throwing one coach under the bus after another. Totally get his decision.

It never made sense for Hurtley, but I totally get it from a guy like Ham's standpoint. Maybe there is a small chance he would've landed a good gig like Daigneault did with the Thunder where he had low expectations, SGA, and a boat-load of assets. Like looking back at it is kind of a crazy chicken and the egg thing where did he get lucky to get that job of a great team, or did they become a great team because of him.....Anyways, Ham most likely would've ended up with a Hornets, Pistons, etc type job where they would have paid him a low amount and fired him in 3 years without anyone remembering he was ever a head coach. At least with the Lakers he had a punchers chance of a Finals run if the stars lined with up 2 top 15 players. Give me that over the hoping LaMelo Ball becomes a top 5 player any day of the week.

Yes and no, Vegas summer league ten years ago was amazing. You could sit 2 rows behind execs and ease drop on their conversations since the gym was so quiet. You could walk up and talk to assistant GMs and coaches who were just chilling between games if you recognized them. Now, it is packed with people and NBA personnel are in their own little bubble.

Ajay has such a smooth game, just humming the crosscourt pass with a flick of the wrist after weaving thru the defense.

I guess fit is always important and Lauri is more efficient but why is Golden State not trying to get Ingram? They both are similar in age, on the last year of their deal looking for more money, and are not the healthiest of players. Maybe they are and the Pelicans don't want to help a potential playoff competitor in the West get better.

I wonder if the GS brains trust have talked about whether it’s better to trade Steph for a haul than blow their future on a Lauri trade that still likely keeps them out of the West’s top 4.

That is a standard rookie max deal. He'd easily get that if Detroit was dumb enough to let him hit the market. The standard rookie max of 25% of the cap has been the same since like 2011 (it may have been even earlier, but I don't care to look it up). People just have sticker shock since the NBA has been so profitable, so the total amount of contracts has skyrocketed.

That being said, he definitely needs to show improvement in many areas to actually live up to that deal, but plenty of teams would have paid for that potential if he hit the market. He's been on some horrifically constructed rosters while being asked to generate a huge amount of offense. It will be interesting to see how he looks with a shooter like Beasley and a very good off ball scorer like Tobes compared to what he's been playing with.

I was really gunning for Horst to draft either AJay or KJ Simpson at #33 to run our 2nd unit.

Smart move by the Pistons. I figured someone would pick him up on waivers, and it was literally the first team that had the opportunity. It is extremely rare for someone that good with a reasonable contract to get waived.

Which begs the question why the 76ers didn't trade him for a minimal asset. I'm assuming most teams knew they had to dump him and were asking for a future 2nd to take him.
