Yes no one of significance is running with it yet. Chones was saying he has a feeling it will get out to real news soon with Deadspin doing some digging now

Pretty much. I'm not sure exactly what's going on, but indications go beyond simple infidelity. Pretty telling that the phrase "spend more time with my family" has never been uttered and that the parroted wisdom that Bo was stepping down to pass off the baton to Gard is completely at odds with the tough situation Gard finds himself in.

I have enjoyed rehearing some of Bret Bielema's greatest hits. That dude's basically a Coors party ball with legs.

I actually think that the stated reason is actually the one that makes most sense. Bo wanted Gard to get the job, Barry couldn't guarantee it, so Bo decided to pull a Dick Bennett so Gard would get a chance.

A scandal wouldn't make sense as Bo tried to retire this offseason, and if the scandal was already the reason at that point, there was no reason for Barry to convince him to stay (or for Bo to agree to that).

My understanding is he wanted to retire when it first got announced but they decided to wait until now because Gard's dad was battling cancer so it wasn't a good time for him to take over then. And of course maybe Bo would change his mind once the season started and stay long term. So they said give it the first semester and see what happens. Obviously it hasn't been going well so here we are.

Because any source of relevance isn't giving up any info. Despite some of the information being 100% accurate, you can't credit heresay as a legitimate source.

What evidence do you have that demonstrates that it is 100% accurate?

Wojo is at Marquette to get experience until Coach K retires.

That affair rumor was out a couple of weeks before the retirement. Granted, nothing totally credible, but it was a rumor all on it's own before the retirement.

At the very least there's more here than meets the eye. Bo gives a statement, doesn't take questions...disappears without further comment. Meets with Barry and has two lawyers with him. What does he need lawyers for? Add to that the rumors and it's the old "where there's smoke there's fire" situation.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

None of that means what you think it means. Bo could have very easily chosen to avoid questions because he wanted the focus to be on Gard, and also because he and Barry weren't leaving on good terms (with him forcing Barry to give Gard a shot) and he didn't want to discuss that with the media. Bo could have brought lawyers with him to Barry's because he wanted to negotiate the terms of his exit and the payout of his contract (all things that you want your lawyer there for).

I'm not discounting the possibility that there could be something more scandalaous going on behind the scenes. I just have yet to hear anything that persuades me that this rumor is anything but a rumor that accompanies every unexpected coaching departure...and this departure wasn't exactly unexpected.

Bo is no saint, he lied about him and Barry having a discussion a couple weeks ago about the timing of him leaving, more to this, no Idea what it is.

Good thing he retired because Bo would've died of a heart attack from this game.

This is the funniest thing I've ever seen. UW turned it over on like 10 consecutive possessions, Gard is going to lose this job pretty fast.

Just got done watching the game.

Wow, that 2nd half was nuts. Up 30 with about 12 minutes left, then an absolute barrage of turnovers by Wisconsin, many by Koenig who looked like a freshman trying to break a press. Gets down to a three point game and Wisconsin with a whopping 26 turnovers.

Gard likely won't be retained but you can't blame him for the meltdown last night. As mid said, this team is bad.

The problem isn't entirely the freshmen (though they each have their moments), it's mainly the junior PG with two final fours and a championship game worth of experience routinely crapping the bed when faced with ball pressure, an open 3, or a FT. Bronson has played pretty poorly this year. Hard to believe Bo didn't give Hill any burn.

Jordan Johnson is insane. 5'9" and had 19/9/10. Second in the NCAA in assists. I encourage everyone to see a UWM game this year. It's the best ticket in town.
