Huawei Arena? Samsung Center? Alibaba Arena?

I'm honestly surprised they haven't had any discussions with Fiserv. Huge software company right in the team's own backyard.

I’ve been suspecting the China angle for awhile. Even at the high end, $200 mil over 20 years is chump change over there.

Think it’ll end up being a Finance company in the end. Will be interesting.

You are obviously not in the Sales or Marketing professions. Promotion and persuasion go hand-in-hand and are executed effectively by inflating the value of a good and the demand of that good.

Nobody excels when they undersell or make their product seem average or run-of-the-mill. He's doing his job.

Believe me, I Know he's doin his job. He just reminds me more of a shady car salesman rather than my trusted family-friend financial advisor.

Whatever money they make on this is just going back in their pockets, correct? Making the money they spent on the stadium almost nothing?

The naming rights money will be used for arena operations and maintenance and to cover any cost overruns if there are any.

lol

The Bucks cut the number of levels available for lease from four to two, said Marc Farha, executive vice president of Icon Venue Group, who represents the Bucks' owners for the arena project.

That means, he said, that "it's more likely that we will have two tenants" rather than the originally envisioned four.

No brewery? They must have been asking for way too much. That sucks. Just lower the damn price. The entertainment center is just gravy I guess, but it would have been cool to have a brewery there.

Much like the MECCA game and new arena season tickets, seems like they are overestimating what people/companies will pay.

Regarding that Feigin article- 60% of digital audience is outside of the US? Seems exaggerated.

Scaling back is never a good sign. Means commercial/retailer don't trust this yet.

It was never a great idea.

The Bucks have the third lowest attendance in the NBA, and they're moving into a smaller, more expensive arena. Plus, you're in direct competition with better, cheaper, and more established options a block or two away.

There are only so many mouths to feed (or pour beer into).

You must not be factoring in the untapped Chicago market, or the Newly acquired Oshkosh fan base.

The market will dictate what gets built. Better to have it be a smaller than overbuild and be underutilized from day one. I would expect that they did some market research in the planning stage, and if the response from bar & restaurant operators is coming in line with that research, they could be dropping back to a scaled back plan B. The Bucks fan base is used to paying bargain basement prices for tickets, season packages and parking. Sellouts are a rarity. The arena would not have been built without heavy subsidies. The Bucks are likely torn between what they would like to have and what the market will support.

Business Insider article on the arena and Giannis. Nothing totally new, but interesting that BI is doing an article on the bucks.

One thing I thought was interesting is the Milwaukee Staff seemed surprised how big Giannis became (I think they are referring to Marketing staff).

A beer garden would be neat. Strangers talking Bucks over beer on picnic tables.

When they showed people sitting in the New seats of the arena during the game last night it didn't look like they had much more room than the BC seats. This concerns me.
