Re: 2017 NBA DRAFT Part 3
Okay here are my outcome tiers for the draft.
Übermensch-tier:
Round 1: Trade up to #11 for Delly, Henson, #17; draft DSJ
Round 2: Buy two 2nd round picks; draft Bolden, Hartenstein, Dorsey.
God-tier:
Round 1: Frank Ntilikina falls to us.
Round 2: Jonah Bolden falls to us.
Might actually happen and would be awesome-tier:
R1: Ike
R2: Frank Mason
If this was secretly Jon Horst's RealGM account-tier:
R1: Bolden
R2: Dorsey
Jeff Schwartz's preferred package:
R1: Harry Giles
R2: Thornwell
It's like Hammond never left-tier:
R1: Justin Patton
R2: Josh Hart
Should have hired Stefanski-tier:
R1: Terrance Ferguson or Jarrett Allen
R2: Sold to the Warriors

Re: 2017 NBA DRAFT Part 3
People may think I am crazy but I will not be surprised if the Bucks go with Tyler Lydon at 17. He looks a lot like Leaf to me only with a better sample size of being a very good shooter. FT % is better and he shows the ability to be a very solid team defender. Plus, he worked out here and I believe he has a high floor. Thoughts?

Gotta trade up if thats the case. I dont know what it would take to go from say 17 to 15 but you get it done. I think Ntilinkina is going to be a legit PG and that is what we desperately need

I personally agree. I don't think he'll ever be a star by any stretch, but I think he has a pretty obvious role that he'll be able to fill in the NBA as a stretch 4. I could easily see him being what we hoped Teletovic would be for us, and he reminds me a bit of the good days of Ilyasova (but with more blocking shots and less drawing charges). I definitely like him more than Leaf. He's also not a big city guy at all so that could potentially be a point in his corner too haha.

Ford just dropped his Mock 8.0. Do any of you know who he has the Bucks taking?

John Leuer, Ersan, Kris Humphries type guys are available in FA every single year, so if that is the upside, don't draft him, just sign one of those guys

Bam. He says it was thought before Hammond left that the Bucks would take Bam if available.
He also says we will consider Jarrett Allen, Harry Giles, and Justin Patton and notes that this is the absolute lowest Harry Giles will go.
Edit:
Other potential draftees: Harry Giles, Justin Patton, Jarrett Allen
A shake-up in the Bucks' front office has everyone guessing about what new GM Jon Horst is going to do at No. 17. There was a growing consensus before he got the job that if Adebayo was on the board, they'd bite. He was a bit disappointing at Kentucky, but his athleticism, lateral quickness and NBA body are all major selling points.
I also hear that this is the floor for Harry Giles if he's still on the board.

East to say that, the team's in front of us are probably happy to stay there and draft him, we don't really have a lot of assets to give, what would you offer? Nobody is pick swapping for Vaughn, Henson, Mirza etc

The guy I mentioned two days ago I think we end up taking - BAM.
He's the similar version of the player we wanted last year, but without the character issues (Deyonta Davis).
I welcome the physical presence and 39 Inch vertical.
Think Jason Caffey, but taller and with hops.

Leuer has never produced the way Ersan did and Hump is nothing like Lydon or Ersan.

I have a hard time looking at Lydon and seeing anywhere near the 17/10 guy Ersan was for a minute there.

He won't hit 10 rebounds (and Ersan never did either outside of that one small stretch), but he can do all the things Ersan used to do (probably more 3 pointers and blocks, but less charges). But I think Lydon is a good complimentary piece to the team that we seem to be building.
He isn't my first pick or anything, but like I said, I'm at least confident he has a role as a guy we can run off screens/pick and pop with, and he can get out in transition and crash the glass for tip-ins. Most of the guys that we're looking at at 17 don't really have any skill that they can currently hang their hat on. Lydon does.

Comparison is just stretch 4 and white guys, don't take it too literally with regards to their games. Point being, some version of those guys are always available, so unless you think there is way more upside, I don't know why you would use a pick on that when it is pretty obtainable via other means.

I think Leaf has far greater potential in the NBA than Lydon given that he's far more of an athlete.

He's an athletic freak, protects the rim, plays hard, wasn't allowed to shoot jumpers at UK, was the 10th option on offense, he's also only 19. And at 17, why the hell not? There aren't any better players on the board at that point unless someone slips.
In reality I am hoping Mitchell or Kennard fall, that way we can dump Shaddy Shad. But I would really like BAM at 17

Hump attempted like 0.1 3 pointers per game lol. And there's a difference between a guy like Leuer that can catch and shoot if left open and a guy like Lydon that you can run off screens and shoot it even when he isn't left open. A big man that you can run off screens is not very common, and when people find one, they get paid like Telly did. There aren't many guys like that that are playing for $2 million.
