So trading/losing the premium talent to compensate for the marginal talent is the approach? That is doubling down on the mistake IMO.

2 different issues, is what i meant.
cant easily get out of those contracts.

Remember how many Bucks fans celebrated when Miami took BAM because they feared we would fall to us?

so dumb.....

his toughness would fit so perfectly with this roster

instead we drafted the softest wimp in the draft

I don't know what the temperature of the board was at draft time but I've been on board the BAM! train since December of 2016. Was hoping he'd fall to us at #17.

I was content with Bam at the time. Isn't he a touch short and that's what everyone was worried about?

Were there really? I don't recall (not disputing it). BAM wasn't at the top of my list because I liked options that fell into the second round (though I am glad we got Sterling), but I don't think I would have been unhappy with it.

Actually I am pretty certain that Ivan Raab and DJ Wilson were the only two guys that I really did not want.

1) Whiteside was out of the league despite EVIDENT talent for 2.5 years due to his terrible attitude.
2) Whiteside missed 4 weeks due to significant knee pain. He tweeted something about "Y'all need to find out whats up with my Knee". He deleted it but I think there is strong reason to believe he is breaking down. He has played >30 min twice since Thanksgiving. Something is going on.

I hate that people still want to dump Henson. He has been incredible. Consistent even. I just want another big that is able to bang with the big boys and provide bench support. Mostly to take Thon's minutes and do something productive with them.

Ivan Raab has been looking pretty good the past few games.

6'10 with a 7'1 and a half wingspan. Not to mention a freak vertical athlete. I never understood why people thought he was undersized at all. Maybe 10-15 years ago he'd have been undersized for a center.

k?

i think if we can all just pretend that happened, we'll be happy

Consistent motor, rim protection, defensive rebounding.

Yeah, no idea, haven't looked, just couldn't project him into being anything of interest long term when I was doing my draft research.

I am far more open to the idea of trading Middleton now than I was in the past few years. He is far more iso oriented and a much less effective defender than in the past. I put this squarely on Kidd who's offensive system seemed to encourage that type of play. Midds has become Joe Johnson lite. Would love to get Seller and Walker for Bled and Midds but that is a pipe dream. Maybe Thon/Midds for Zeller/Monk.
Bucks fandom bringing me happiness still seems like a dream.

Wasn't there a report something along the lines that the Bucks were offering 2/3 of Thon / Wilson / Vaughn in deals?

I'd probably be cool with that if it could yield us a Henson upgrade.

From that perspective I'm thinking I'd rather go for a cheaper center like Rolo vs a more expensive one where we have to deal Jabari.

Deandre and Whiteside are also exactly at the age when they start to break down. It's not like they're without risk even though they didn't do their ACL's.
