Re: OT: TV and Movies (With Spoilers)
I did. Seemed like pretty typical oscar bait so expected it to win some awards. I thought it was fine but meh. I wasn't mad I spent 2 hours watching it but I'd never even consider watching it again.Wonka wrote:Did anyone here watch Best Picture winning film Nomadland? I was very underwhelmed by it and was shocked it performed that well at the Oscars.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

I liked "Nomadland" a lot, but it's definitely not for everyone. More about characters and capturing a place and time than following an actual plot, and I think it's very good at both of those things. Feels sort of like a modern version of "The Grapes of Wrath."

Can confidently say that For All Mankind is the best show in years.

Its really good! I feel like it's really under the radar, I had never even heard of it before stumbling across it when I got AppleTV+ earlier this year because I wanted to watch Ted Lasso.ReasonablySober wrote:Can confidently say that For All Mankind is the best show in years.

The wife and I just started watching it this week. We're 7 episodes in, and have been blown away so far.

It only gets better too. The season 2 finale is the best episode of the series. I was really happy to read that production is already started for season 3 and they have a seven or eight season plan.

Just got done with the latest episode of Invincible on Amazon Prime. This show is absolutely insane and I can’t wait to see where they go with it.

Did you really just post a lineup with the starting 2 guard being JR Smith?
Our actual management posted a lineup with the starting 2 guard being Tony Snell.

Kind of a bummer that the Last Kingdom isn't going to adapt the full book series.

Netflix puts out some great shows but I'm getting sick of them cutting everything short.

Fitz and the Fool desperately needs to be made into a series.

The 2nd season of that show was crazy and indulgent in the best way.
