I’ve long been one of Midds biggest supports. He deserves a statue for ‘21. But he is absolutely cooked. Anyone with a head of steam is getting by him to the bucket. He is no threat to drive so everyone can get into his shot.

Just do the Jimmy deal, send the 2nd along with Pat to Detroit to get under the apron, send Portis and Midds to the Heat, and give Jimmy a verbal commitment to a two year max extension after he opts out to tie his timeline with Dame’s.

If you get playoff Jimmy from two years ago you’ve got a great chance to get to the finals. If you don’t, you weren’t getting there with Bobby/Midds, Beal, Lavine, Ingram, or anyone else they could reasonably acquire. Jimmy is the one guy they can acquire that has finals upside.

No thank you.

I promise you, Khris's trade value doesn't disintegrate after one bad performance. His stats on the year are very solid

Yup, this terrible game by Mids dropped his per 36 stats to 18.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists with a 3 to 1 assist to turnover ratio, and 1.3 steals on 58TS%. His previous 4 games he shot 64% from the floor. I don't know what the hell last night was, but he remains very appealing to numerous teams.

If he's dealt, it should be to get more athletic, not to get a different old geezer.

man...you know how i feel about the guy but if hes even capable of last night with actual effort or hes laying down because of the media reports...either way the time may have come. i dont even have an opinion anymore. i need to be inside the lockerrom and the medical files for this.

but as of this moment....as a fan..... i think if somebody puts a gun to my head and says i got 2 seconds to decide between lavine and khris straight up i think for the first time ever i might snap and say i move khris. last night was absurd. it almost feels like he pulled a **** all this dick move

Jimmy doesn’t like the way Miami is playing him. He wants to be a ball pounder.

His issue with Miami is entirely them saying they will not extend him beyond his player option. Miami wants cap space after next season to try and lure Luka there. Their only other goal is they need to make the playoffs this season so their lottery protected pick they traded conveys this year instead of becoming unprotected next year. That’s also why Midds/Portis works as they are not signed beyond next season and can help Miami get past the playin this season.

One of my concerns is whether we think Jimmy would defer to Giannis or Dame. I have a feeling that if we brought him in, he'd be demanding the crunch time shots. He'd be demanding to dribble it up. He'd demand high usage. He'd want to be the alpha. It could quickly become toxic.

Jimmy wants his mf money simple as that, I’d extend him until end of Dame’s contract. There aren’t any cheap or young options for this team, we need defense and culture guys more than all especially if Bobby gets shipped out. Jimmy and only Jimmy!

I don’t think the Giannis/Dame combo really fits but maybe Jimmy in between can bridge the gap, haven’t heard one other name I like. A superstar PJ is exactly what this team needs. Team would be so versatile defensively, I have zero interest in anybody that doesn’t make this team better defensive. Last thing team needs another guy needing shots to have any value whatsoever.

Remember Jimmy and Dame wanted to play together, Giannis is about as alpha as they come. Jimmy isn’t a stupid player, I’m confident he wants to win(after he gets paid) more than he wants to chuck shots unlike literally every other player you guys are interested in

Not entirely. His article about finding joy at the start of the month says he hasn’t been used the way he is since his first few years in the league. He wants to be dominant again.

How is that going to work in between Devin Booker and Kevin Durant? False narrative imo

Jimmy’s never really been a super high usage player, though.

The most he’s averaged is 22.9pts per game, and his usage has mostly been 25-26%. He already differs pretty well to others on a team in which he’s clearly the most talented - I don’t think he’d have a problem doing that here when there’s a clearly more talented player.

Khris’s usage was higher than 25-26 when he was the second option, and has been 22-24 the past two seasons.

The last thing to consider is Jimmy wouldn’t just be taking khris’s offensive load, he’d also be part of replacing Bobby’s production.

I think the only issue for jimmy might have been that Philly stint when their brass preferred Simmons and Tobias to him, and in hindsight, yeah, I’d be pissed about that, too.

I agree and that is why out of all the high salary guys I would be okay with Jimmy because he is a clear upgrade on both sides and his usg fits the role he would play for the Bucks. He might not be the shooter that Khris is but he has been the more efficient player on offense and with Portis gone he will get more touches as a starter and second unit leader

We’re also built very differently than the heat - we would be very reliant on Jimmy to create shots for himself and others just like we are dependent on Khris to do that.

Miami’s thing has pretty much always been that they find ways to make every player a creator in some way, whether that’s for themselves or others (Bam, Duncan, Herro, Martin, all their **** guards over the years, etc) That’s part of why they’ve been such a difficult matchup for us, (other than getting absurdly hot from 3) and I think also might be one of the reasons why they haven’t been a top seed consistently. You pay a price to develop that stuff.

We don’t have that. Trent, Green, Prince, Dre all need their shots created for them. The one dude who looks like he might be a self creator in time is Rollins, but he’s not there yet.

Jimmy would get to work with the ball a lot here.

Ya I wasn’t on the butler for Midds and portis trade. Now if we can swing that deal the bucks should and need to do it.

Jimmy’s words, not a narrative.
Jimmy pounding with KD and Booker on his wings is his dream.

I think there’s a hot negotiation about our 2031 first.

I hear you, but unfortunately it's not a1 for 1 move, and I think last night's game showed how much we'd miss Bobby, and that makes it more complicated. Then, if we need to give up a 2nd to move Pat just for the right to have no front court depth...

Taking a swing on Jimmy is one thing but if we need to deal the 2031 first we basically cash out our final assets for improving the team (which would still have some holes) for a while.

Jimmy is already a part time player. Both because he load manages but he gets legitimate injuries too.

And it’s not like either will get better after he locks up his dough and breaks the 35 year old barrier.

I know this is completely unlikely but the math is damn close, so maybe Pat needs to go to a fourth team and things need to be done in a particular order but….

MKE in Butler, Isaac, Highsmith

ORL in Lopez, Marjon

MIA in Middleton, Portis, Pat (or rerouted to a 4th team)

PG Dame, Rollins, AJJ
SG AJ Green, Ajax
SF Butler, Trent, Highsmith
PF Giannis, Prince, Livingston, Smith
C Isaac, Buy out or subsequent deal

Not sure who needs what picks and we would need a durable back up center or PF that can eat a lot of minutes if we need Giannis at the 5. That could be a truly elite defense with a lot of floor spacers yet.

We trade Khris, he gets bought out. Joins Celtics and burns us in playoffs and gets a 2nd chip.

Good for him! In a more likely scenario we trade him and he needs ankle surgery and misses the playoffs all together and opts in for 30 games at the end of the next season. Who knows?

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
