Hopefully this thread goes on until this trade is made.

I'm all over Sessions/Alexander for Conley/2010 Lakers 1st. Then RJ for LaFrentz straight (throw in Lakers pick if needbe). Match an offer for CV up to the MLE in the offseason or bring him back on the QO, bring back Ilyasova.

Conley
LRMAM
CV
Bogut
Ilyasova
2009 pick (preferrably wing scorer here, but go BPA)

That is a nice young core going forward.

You can look to make some deals with Ridnour/Allen/Elson expirings in the offseason.

You can move Redd the following offseason, along with picking up two more first rounders in the 2010 draft.

I like that core. Has D, rebounding, and assuming you can get a scorer in the draft, solid offense.

I really think JA is expendable because of Ersan. (if we can deal RJ) I have little doubt Ersan can step in and play 15-20 min backing up the 3/4. I wouldn't need the Lakers pick to make the Conley trade.

Portalnd fans seem to be 60/40 in favor of

RJ/Gadz/1st(top5prot)
for
Webster/Outlaw/Raef/2nd

Hope we get into top 5 and keep pick

Draft:
1(3) Monroe Georgetown
2(mil) Thorton LSU
2(port) Perdergraph Arizona

Mybe do the Conley/Arthur for Sessions/Alexander trade

Conley/Ridnour/Lue
Webster/Thorton/Bell
Moute/Outlaw/Illyasova
CV/Monroe/Arthur
Bogut/Pendergraph/Elson

+ Raefs cap relief - resigning CV

I'm not giving this years first with RJ. I'm not that desperate.

Just keep Gadz and our pick out of it. If we unload just RJ, we have plenty of cash available to keep Sessions/CV, and we can keep collecting young talent (such as the draft pick that we shouldn't give away) while we wait for Gadz to expire.

But we're able to get rid of both RJ and Gadz. Have to atleast consider it. Especially if we're barely a lottery team.

Ya all the fun trades went out the window when Redd got injured. Redd put us in a lurch for trades now. his big contract could of been broken up with bench fillers and expirings. Now we just got our young kids and RJ for trade bait. If the Suns didnt have Shaq I would try a Bogut for Amar.

RJ brings good leadership to this team, but he makes tons of brain farts and just really isn't all that great anymore, hes a decent player, for the money and mistakes he makes i would get him out of here for just about anything that isnt a longer contract than him at this point.

What would the tone of this board be if Conley was the one that had a 44-12-5 game against the PIstons?

The same as it is now with Sessions, only without the worry of having to re-sign him in four months.

Optimistic. It would indicate that our GM is capable of identifying talent.

Just to be clear, I meant if Conley had a game like this for Memphis right now.

My point was that some people have downplayed what Sessions did last night, but if Conley had a massive game like that, I think people would be praising him like mad and would be ripping Hammond to shreds.

It would never happen. The best game in his career so far is 15/11. That is his one double digit assist game in 75 career starts at PG. Ramon has 7 in 11.

You forgot to mention Conley's intangibles

No, we'd be praising Hammond. Hammond wanted to trade Sessions for Conley, so if Conley had a huge 40/10 game, we'd be saying "so that's what Hammond saw in the guy."

If Sessions blows up much bigger than Conley it makes Hammond look bad, since he tried to trade Sessions and his #8 overall pick for him.

I'd love it if Conley and Landry blow up - it would make me feel a lot more at ease with Hammond as our talent evaluator.

I think Hammond has used the trade talk as motivation. He's done it to nearly every guy on the team, except Bogut.

I can see what you are saying about Hammond in the scenario I laid out.

My main point was that Sessions just had one of the best games a Bucks player has had in the last 5 years, yet people have really downplayed it like its not a big deal. My hypothetical actually does work really well if you assume the trade actually did happen because if we traded for Conley and he had the exact same game Sessions just had, people would have gone nuts in the post-game thread. Instead, you had a lot of people having to defend Sessions, which is absurd.

I can understand people putting an asterisk next to the games Sessions had last year, but its not even the All-Star break yet and the Pistons are on pace for 46 wins and people want to put an asterisk next to this game as well.

it's definitely a big deal, but i'd like to see him get minutes and perform consistently as a starting point guard rather than one big game a month

You're going to get your chance over the next month, but we'll probably lose a bunch of games (hard not to with Bogut, Redd, and Ridnour out) so people will still doubt him even if he plays awesome ball himself.
