I’m not including a first for Sexton even if Olynyk is in the package

I’m still on the fence in a package with OKC like Mann+Poku+? Would have protections on it at least

I thought Olynyk just signed a contract? He can't be traded already.

He did not sign a contract, his option was picked up.

Okay thanks. Twitter feed was moving quick and must of read to much into it thinking it was a new deal.

What superstar are we getting in a package for an expiring Grayson, Pat and a 2029 first? Lol Sexton might be the best we could do league wide.

You need the 2029 first to combine with more firsts beyond that down the road. We’re in the spot we are right now because we don’t have firsts we can trade for quite a while that we’d need to make a blockbuster trade. Trading one now would just be kicking the can down the road even further, and we cannot afford to do that.

2029 is 6 years out. Giannis isn't gonna wait until the team falls apart. It's now or never. Bucks are to predictable last 3 or 4 years. Same players almost. Heck almost same team yet again barring two rookies and a new coach. Middleton and Brook older and paid more. Yeah we lost Carter and Ingles. But landed Malik and Robin. Still need a Bobby,Pat,Allen and 2029 first trade for something good yet.

It’s incredibly short sighted to trade a first in a year Giannis isn’t even under contract (and would be old if he is) for a marginal asset. The Bucks 2029 first is valuable, let alone the opportunity cost of not having it when the opportunity to trade for an actual superstar opens up.

There’s just no way to rationalize trading a first that far out for Sexton when you’re attaching good players to the deal as well. We’d be losing key players in our rotation AND one of our few trade assets for a non All Star, with zero ability to replace those players because we’re stuck paying guys league minimum in a non-destination city.

Imagine we trade our 2029 first and next year SGA becomes available, but we’re out of the race completely because we burned that pick on Sexton.

I think the draft is an overrated crap shoot and when you're good you should trade 1st for vets to win right now. But when it comes to picks in future years you really need to be sure it's a core piece type starter you're getting back.

Sexton is a dude I like but he would be pretty borderline in my core piece designation. Plus the fact that Holliday and Brook's age and contract status set up so well for an upgrade trade next summer id probably keep my powder dry.

But I get why people would do it and I am of the general mindset that if you have a superstar and are a really contender that doing everything to win right now means WAY more than worrying about the future.

Jrue, Bobby, Grayson, and our ‘29 first for Lillard and Keon Johnson.

Supposedly going to Miami if they get Lillard.

I wonder if a Jrue trade would restock the draft pick cupboard…

I think we only trade a first if it’s a bigger trade.

We just bought #36. A late first on it’s own shouldn’t be the difference in a meaningful deal.

That’s where Bobby and Pat are now in play I suspect. We can replace them with a savvy signing.

Then we maintain our ability to trade 3 firsts at the draft — perhaps with one of Jrue / Middleton / BroLo.

That makes a little better sense. Still would be awesome to add Huff for them both to teach the ways of the Jedi

I know there's been speculation about this but KoC said on his podcast this morning that signing Robin was part of the deal to bring Brook back.

It's all good until brook doesn't let him forget it... Like when there's the last slice of pizza... Cmon man, I got you this job man.... When deciding who pays for the Uber....Yooooo I got you a job man, put food on your table.

Eventually rolo gonna have enough of it.

About 20 games into the season this board is going to sink in to a ton of regret over passing on a potential BroLo sign and trade.

He seemed to lose Darvin's trust pretty quick, that's for sure. I'm choosing to be optimistic, he should have plenty of space for his quick trigger playing off Giannis. Compared to the RoLo news it's a great signing...

come on man. theres alot of different personalities on this board and ive always been just one of those. a little emotional. enjoy trying to think out of the box. im not an allstar here i enjoy the process with you guys and value the opinions i read most of the time more than writing the ones i share.

as it relates to giannis. the guy is the greatest buck ever.. i get that. i love him and ffs i weeped watching his goddam disney movie. im also all in on this team as its constructed, with him...i didnt even want bud to go. so take what i say with a grain of salt and i know proposing giannis trades is kind of whackass but the mfer could return the greatest haul of all time. its hard for my personality here not to look sometimes and just wonder and as he gets older and the threat of him walking or breaking down increases its gonna be harder and harder for me not to speak out loud about it just to calm my nerves about the future
