People need to stop touting trades that include our future 1st round picks. We were the WORST team in the league this year. We should be the last team in the league considering a trade that involves future first round picks. Next year's draft could very well be better than this year's. It has the potential to be the best big man draft in a generation. I'm not trading that pick for Marcus Smart.

Those of us that think Marcus Smart is a top 4 talent, in a better draft, will continue to toute it. I'll take Smart, Wiggins, and Sanders and kiss next year's draft goodbye. Having two high seconds this year makes it even easier.

It's not a silly argument since Exum hasn't faced any competition, he's only played against players that he dominates physically. All those other guys have played against guys that can match up against them. I think it's real easy for a guy that is slight of frame to fall in love with his jump shot versus taking a beating inside, this is even more of a worry with scoring PGs that pound the rock. Exum has potential because of his god given gifts, I want more than that at #2.

Exum was pretty dang good in the Nike hoops summit in 2013. He didn't look over matched at all.

I don't know enough about him to say if he's better than wiggins or Parker but I think it's silly to totally disregard him because he didn't play against college competition.

Oh yeah none of these guys have character issues so I'm not sure why parker being a "good kid" matters at all.

We are giving up way too much there, but that said, it all depends on what Utah wants for that pick. I do agree that I'd have Knight, Henson, Sanders, Ersan, Middleton and the 2015 pick all in the mix. You have to give to get. I'd like to think Henson, Knight and 2015 top 3 protected would work for Utah. Then you draft Wiggins and Smart.

I'd hesitate slightly on offering Middleton and Ersan if we draft Embiid at #2, because I'd like those two guys to be our outside shooters in the Embiid and 4 shooters scenario.

As long as there is some protection on our pick next year, I wouldn't be opposed to trading it. Like top 5 or even top 3 protection. You don't want to risk losing the #1 pick obviously.

Smart seems more like the last piece for a team trying to make the playoffs than a piece to build a team around. He's an excellent defender and has a higher floor, but his ceiling is probably much lower than a guy like LaVine. Unless Smart gets drafted by the Spurs I think he ends up closer to being the next Tony Allen than the next Kawhi.
