A Middleton for Towns deal intrigues me.
Timberwolves can't really afford to rebuild and maybe they'd be interested in pairing Wiggins with Middleton.

I don't think the Bucks have a possible package that would get Minnesota to bite.

Bledsoe and Middleton for Paul and Gallo would be incredibly ballsy, but I'm not convinced it would make us a lot better. I also don't see why the Thunder would do it - it doesn't give them young talent or salary relief.

I would not do Bledsoe/Middleton for Paul/Gallo, way too big of risk to team chemistry and makes winning this year even more necessary in regards to resigning Giannis.

Many said the exact same thing last year and look where that got us. A happy, successful regular season does not a championship team make.
So because last year didn't turn out the way we all thought it would, and the way it was very much looking before the overtime in game 3 in Toronto, that means this current team isn't good enough?
You can tell me you have doubts about this team but you can't base it off that... that's silly.
I agree with this sentiment generally, however we're at the big boy table now. Any season with healthy Giannis will go pretty far. For example, in 2017-18 you could've said: "We were in a Game 7 with Boston who really should've went to the Finals!" Great. We didn't hang any banners on that moral victory.
Similarly, being a terrible Khris and Eric Game 3 away from going up 3-0 means nothing. Every franchise has these stories. Woulda coulda shoulda.
I also think it's been pretty well established that Giannis personality wise is going to get along with the vast majority of players who work hard. That doesn't mean that chemistry doesn't matter because it always does, but it's less relevant here. Compare the whole Kevin Love/LeBron passive aggressive thing that went on about "fitting in/fitting out".
Clearly those guys doing all the wrestling moves/birthday party/popcorn prank type stuff with Giannis are fitting in. But it doesn't mean that those who don't do all that stuff (like Khris or Malcolm previously) are fitting out necessarily. It's not like Giannis called out Khris for loafing last year. Giannis is still in his honeymoon stage, just like LeBron with the powder-toss and pantomimed selfie stuff with the Cavs.
The question you have to ask yourself (and I don't want Chris Paul really) is would 2007 didn't really know how to win or compete Chosen One LeBron have benefited from a trade that moved Mo Williams and Antwon Jamison for whatever the comparison to old winning veterans would've been. Chauncey and Rip? Jermaine O'Neal and Jason Kidd? Hindsight says they should've done that and their 66 East Wins didn't matter.

I honestly can't imagine how anyone could think it would make the Bucks any ounce better. We're shipping out the two best players and getting two lesser players in return.

After spending an hour with the trade machine ive determined a good CP3 trade is impossible.

I don't thing that our projected 70W record actually means much in an Eastern Conference where Miami is 2nd with a roster full of rookies and undrafted guys. So maybe the answer is a bold move with an all chips-on-the-table trade. But I also don't think there is a GM with balls big enough to mess with a 70W team. You have a 70W team, you give it a chance every time, it's just how it is. (even if I don't think we have more than 25-30% chance to a ring this year with LA waiting at the other end).

There’s no way to do a CP3 trade that doesn’t leave us completely short handed on perimeter creation ability.
Similar reason to basically any deal involving Covington being pretty much garbage. He’s a nice role player in a vacuum, but just doesn’t fit here at all unless we are also moving like 4 other players and completely overhauling the entire roster just so we can fit in RoCo.

AussieBuck wrote:What if it was some kind of three team deal and we got Covington back instead of Galinari? That way we get back a good cheap role player who expires at the same time as Paul the year after Giannis' extension kicks in. Only slightly more per year than Bled/Middleton too.
Covington for Bledsoe should work. Minny desperately need a PG and seems like they are trying to win, clears any concern of Bledsoe going to the Lakers.
Paul and some of that pick stockpile for Middleton. (CBF looking up what those picks are but there's enough of them for anyone's taste)
Paul/Hill
Wes/Donte
RoCo/Korver
Giannis/Ersan
Lopi
It's a bit low on shot creators I guess. Clears out all non-Giannis salary other than Brook in 2022 leaving a lot of room for a post-Paul re-tool with some picks to play with to go with salary space.
I was thinking CP to Minne actually makes some sense, and no idea if Hayward has regained his trade value but I was trying to figure out a way to send those two to Min, Covington to us, Teague, Dieng to OKC but it was getting nutty.

Lmfao at replacing Middleton with Galinari and not missing a beat.
Some of you are not watching the same sport I am. And I kinda like Gallinari, even brought up his name as a target this summer.

What else are we getting in this hypothetical trade? It doesn't look balanced to me...

Giannis has chosen Midds to be his Robin. Trading Middleton ain't gonna happen.

Bledsoe is better than Paul?

Chris Paul would likely be a better playoff performer than Bledsoe. Middleton is better than Gallinari - but it's closer than you'd think, and Gallinari would be cheaper than him in the long run even with an extension after the season.
I'd pass, personally, unless OKC was willing to include a boatload of picks or a younger asset like SGA.
Either way, I like the notion that Horst is exploring chances to make bold moves instead of sitting on his hands and letting this ride. You need balls like that to win in this league.

Bledsoe is better than Paul?
When you factor in defense and the fact that everyone hates playing with Paul? Yea.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Bucks shop Bledsoe. That said, Bled+Mids for Paul+Gallo does not make sense since 1) we don't have a bad contract to make it even and 2) Gallo is a FA this summer.

Sure Bledsoe is a better defender and Paul is an **** but unfortunately Bledsoe isn't reliable when the pressure is on.I think putting your faith in Bledsoe at this point is foolish and i would prefer not to.
I don't even care about Paul, just turn Bledsoe into a similar level player that can actually perform in the playoffs like say,Holiday.

Last season was a massive success despite a disappointing ending. Pretending otherwise is absurd.
How often do teams go from 1st round fodder to a championship? The Warriors lost in the 1st round the year prior to winning the championship, but even that team had been to the 2nd round just the season before that. They were also a 51 win team. The Bucks hadn't been out of the first round or won 50 games in nearly 20 years.
Even a superteam like the Heat needed a year to figure things out before winning a championship.
