Re: Around the League - Vaughn Named Nets Coach
Zion's missed 5-games so whatever, big deal. Played in 21 of 26 games, and he's got the Pelicans playing as good as anyone in the league right now when he's on the court (+12.1 net-rating). Again, someone needs to make the argument over why Tatum has been better than him, not the other way around. 25/7/4 on 65% TS and he's already a much better play-maker/passer than Tatum will probably ever be. He's an absolute monster and you're already seeing him improved on defense as well. If I had to do an MVP straw-poll right now the lowest I'd put him is like, #3 or #4.

If he's not top 10 he most certainly should be. New Orleans is first out West, and he's why.
He's missed 25% of their games. He definitely should not be.
You can't miss a lot of games and be MVP in my opinion.
Although it looks like some here disagree.
If he plays like 90% of their games (or so), sure. That is extremely unlikely though.
He's played 1 fewer game than Giannis, I don't think it's a dealbreaker.
If you're arguing he won't deserve it by the end of the year, I won't argue with that. I don't think the Pels will be where they're at now by then, either.
It certainly has become murkier now that everyone rests more than they ever did. I personally would have a hard time voting someone who plays 60 games as the MVP, but at this rate that may leave no one to vote for.
I am in no way trying to denigrate Zion. He's been awesome. He's not the MVP though imo. My top 10 comment may be off (but not by much).

Eye test tells me Tatum is a far better defender. That could be wrong though, it's just my feeling. I'm not going to sit here and pretend I've watched more than a few games of each this season.
Their offensive numbers are nearly identical per 36, with Zion holding a small advantage in TS% on lower usage.
I think defense is the tie breaker, and I don't honestly know for sure who the better defender is, but my feeling is that it's Tatum.

I was looking forward to Hawks/Griz and Trae and Ja are both out
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Brooklyn seems to be creeping up the standings — currently in the 4th spot & 0.5 games back of Cleveland for 3rd.
A trade for a defensive wing may be a necessity at some point.

Unless they can turn it around, the Wolves have '01-'02 Bucks written all over them.

Regular season game... But Celtics have some issues. They are playing Blake griffin as their center... Brown and tatum still loo immature and lost at points. Clippers wing defense flustered them. Smart is just a try hard flopper. Brogdon can score for them but looked bad on d tonight. Again, regular season game but people putting them on some tier above everyone else seems wrong.

One of the X-factors or intangibles in beating the Celtics is frustrating them and getting under their skin, it takes them out of their game. One of the reasons Jae Crowder would have value for us in a series with the Celtics. Grayson Allen isn't taking anyone out of their game, if anything they're getting easy baskets on him as he bricks good looks on the offensive end.
Get it done Horst.

Kawhi’s a long way off his athletic peak but he still looked really good out there today. Good to see for the league.

On his shin? Unless he has a multiple fracture from a car crash, I dunno what it could be.
Or is DET just seriously tanking this year?

Agree seems like all their loses have come from teams playing great Dcon them n not letting them take open 3s all night.Warriors heat clips Cavs their manned up on them n did absolutely frustrate them. You guys complain about Lukas whining but I've never seen a worse team at whining than the celts good lord they never commit a foul just ask them

Remember Robert Williams is hurt and will be back at some point. However I would rather play Boston with RW due to match ups. We don't match up well with Boston when they go small.

Last two games for Boston from 3PT range: 9/39 (23%) and 12/40 (30%). Both blowout losses. Weird, it's almost like some of us were simply pointing out that their offense relies too much on unsustainable 3PT flamethrowing and nothing to do with "disrespecting" them or whatever nonsense.
