I mean, he does work for ESPN, so it kinda makes sense he'd have a vested interest in gassing up this Boston narrative. Can't go into the NBA season, the ultimate star/social media driven sport, with little 'ol Denver and Milwaukee looking like the two juggernauts destined to meet in the Finals.

I mean I feel like it's been obvious that Lowe has conformed to the "BIG MARKETS GOOD", ESPN blather for years now. He's totally different than he used to be on tv. I get it, either you fall in line or you get fired. And the guaranteed big check is hard to walk away from, but IMO paying attention to any hoops analyst ESPN employs other than Legler or Redick currently is just dumb. And then as for all the Bill Simmons adjacent schmucks, are well, clowns who come across as trying to suck on the teet of Simmons who offer no insight or relevant analysis. You might as well just watch Shannon Sharpe and be entertained than watch any of them...because he's also just as correct as they are anyway at this point.

He might be a hardcore Lakers/Bron homer, but he actually acknowledges Jokic and Giannis when they dominated in the finals, and doesn't suck big market dick like the other analysts do. Likely because he can survive completely independent of a big media corp paying him with his youtube channel and podcast. All the other schmucks, Lowe included, become literal nobodies and make no money if they aren't tethered to big media to keep them relevant.

The only major media sports show that is worth watching on occasion is First Things First, and that's just because they have actual good chemistry/can be funny and are less absurd with their click driven blather, whereas with the other Fox shows and everything ESPN you can clearly tell their pre-show production meetings are "push this big market angle, push that, talk this, talk that"

Also, on air personalities like Skip Bayless/Malika Andrews in particular NEED to be bullied and harassed and ridiculed nonstop for the way they enunciate each and every word with so much emphasis like it's the climax of something major. If a kid talked like that in school they would get made fun of/mocked endlessly, and rightfully so. Bring back bullying to be the positive change we need to see in the world of sports. Even something like another analyst talking in their ridiculous cadence right back at them would likely throw them off because it's so brain dead dumb sounding.

Anything with Stephen A Smith or skip Bayless in it I don't click. I refuse to give them eyeballs.

So I miss most of what Sharpe says because he's usually on with skip.

Malika a lot of times I don't know what she's saying, I'm just enjoying any resemblance of her climax on words.

Shannon Sharpe hasn't been on with Skip since the NBA finals. He has his own podcast and does Mon/Tues with Stephen A Smith on First Take. However I don't think that First Take bit will last since Sharpe is quite obviously a massively brighter star than SAS and SAS is very insecure about things like that.

The Bucks did outperform their pythag W-L by 8 last year (58 wins, pythag of 50 wins), but I don't know how you add Lillard and have it pretty much be a lock that both GA and Middleton play more games than last year, and have less wins.

I put more stock in what you guys say on this board than what the talking heads in the media say.

Guys like Lowe and Simmons (at least to me) sound like those type of guys who are good at talking about basketball, they have the gift of gab, but they don't really know the game of basketball on the level you would expect or assume based on them being in the media. They can be an entertaining listen, but they sound like guys who just look at numbers and don't actually watch the games and don't have a great grasp on the nuances of the game of basketball.

Imagine what these clowns would be saying if the Bucks stood pat with Jrue and the Celtics acquired Dame.

Gil's Arena seemed to be in consensus the Bucks win at least 60 & have a ceiling in the 70s for regular season wins.

Brandon on the bandwagon excited for them potentially cracking 70, either Gilbert or Kenyon , if not both saying at least 60. All in agreement, if they want to go for it, higher.

Also the Bucks were constantly playing with their food during the regular season. They seemed determined to play a relatively close 4th quarter and then they let themselves get pummeled a few times as well.

Still feel like it isn't real. Going to wake up and it will all have been in my head. In no universe did i think we had the assets to get Dame. I was desperately trying to maneuver Simons here because I wanted a eltie shooting point next Giannis. Somehow Horst manges to get the second best pne of all time in Dame. Just wow, my bucks fandom much like my packer fandom feels reinvigorated.
Bucks fandom bringing me happiness still seems like a dream.

Dame hit 37% from 3 last year. Surrounding talent and Coach Bum Billups were huge factors in that low number. What does it jump to this year playing with Giannis in Stotts offense?

I'll say 42%.
