Gives me more hope for next year if nothing else. If Hayes and Koenig come back(unless they really want to go play overseas I don't see why they wouldn't return) we will be really deep adding Van Vliet and Pritzl to this group.

its amazing how bad the Badgers can be and yet still be in games.

unless a miracle happens, this will be the year the NCAA streak ends.

If you think MCW turns the ball over too much, you'd hate Trimble.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Vito Brown is the new age Tim Jarmusz. 18 mins, 0 pts, 0 reb, 0 assist. Now that is what I call an empty stat guy.

I prefer this to the Vitto from earlier this season, which generally was 25 minutes with 1/9 or 3/15 type shooting, even if he was racking up rebounds and playing pretty good defense.

In his defense there has been plenty of games Vitto has shot just fine knocking down jumpers and his shot form is actually pretty solid. Even stretched himself out to the 3pt line now. Vito's big mistake was not redshirting his freshman year, just as he finally figures it all out he'll be done. He doesn't really have any offensive game now other than catch/shoot jumpers and is yet to figure out the little things of the game. At this point next year he probably will be much much better, then he'll be done at the end of the year.

My issue watching Vitto is that he was basically the one guy I've watched in the past several years that didn't take his shot (not high percentage) in the context of Bo's offense. Almost everybody else would only shoot if it was an efficient shot. Vitto still shoots a low percentage, and up until recently, was not ever passing that shot up. He'd do it pretty early in the shot clock...basically whenever he'd touch the ball.

Before him, I don't know, maybe Ryan Evans? At least he was an elite defender that found his way to the line a fair amount. Vitto was a net-negative in so many games earlier this year on offense. Take back some of Vitto's wasted possessions vs WIU or UWM and even just give Nigel a garbage late-shot-clock attempt instead and we probably win both games.

I still remember WIU's run to get back in the 2nd half were almost completely due to 3 or 4 straight possessions where Vitto basically punted the ball back to WIU. He went 1-9 against UWM with his jumpers.

This year, there aren't many better alternatives to a long 2 from Vitto, but I'd rather see the ball moved around anyways. Somebody else could probably do better.

Yea I didn't mean to say he was good or anything. Just trying to point out his one positive and the mistake he made in not redshirting.

NW was favored. Just come to grips with how terrible of an offensive team this is with zero creators, all young support players, and some injured/ineligible players and tune back in next year. That's what I'm doing.

I'm really surprised Bronson hasn't been better. I guess he doesn't have the quickness needed to create and has been more of a facilitator. I expected a big leap from him this year since he'd have so much more freedom and shots available.

definitely. I understand defenses are prioritizing Koenig and Hayes, but Hayes has shown he can still produce. Koenig is showing he really is best as the 4th option on a good team.

the Freshmen are not very confident at all right now. everyone is afraid to shoot. I'm glad they aren't getting blown out every night, but it'd be nice to win some of these games.

Right, I'm happy with the improvement since Bo left and they've been competitive every game but too bad they couldn't have pulled out a few more wins to have a legit shot at the tourney. I like what Illikanen has shown so far, he'll be a shooter down the line. If they develop the shots of Iverson and Thomas they could be really good in 2 years when these guys are all Juniors or Sophs.

I know he's got the potential for it, but Happ really needs to develop a reliable shot from outside of 5 feet. He has no vertical and he's not that tall.

Do we seriously have no one else that can take Brown's minutes? He is so bad.

And Gard probably is gone but I don't think they've played badly under him. Hanging with top 5 teams with a talent deficiency.

That shot DEFINITELY wouldn't have counted for Costello. He still had it in his hand at the buzzer.

Anyway, good win for these guys. Love the competitiveness that they've shown recently.
