In a sick and twisted way though it is a little pleasing to watch another team have piss poor ownership after experiencing it for the first 25 years of my life.
I'm an expert on NBA bad owners, grew up in Wisconsin rooting for the bucks then moved to AZ in 2002 and the suns got Nash shortly after so they became the only team here i actually actively follow and root for.

He probably does fall into the category of owners who are going to be hurt financially being that he's in the bottom 5 in owner net worth (estimated around $400M). But if you can't afford to run a team then sell it and take your crazy profit in the increased valuation.

I'm actually more annoyed with them laying off 30 team employees than the sale of the gleague team.

It is pretty funny the other two teams who don't own their own gleague squad are the Nuggets and Blazers who both are owned by some of wealthiest families in America.

I believe the Blazers are going to grab the 8th seed. Best individual player (of the 8th seed contenders) in Dame, most playoff experience and a healthy Nurk is looking really good. Give them the slight nod over Memphis.

I think Ja has some of that Brandon Jennings 8th seed swagger, Memphis ftw!

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

Yeah, Blazers are much watch tv for me: Lillard, McAllum, the Bosnian Badass, and all the joy of knowing that Epi is at home watching a special satellite broadcast feed of only Coach Stotts.

I think it'll be the Pelicans because of the schedule. They've got 6 games against sub.500 teams while the Blazers have 2.

Not to mention they were on track to make the playoffs during the 82 game season. New Orleans is 21-13 in their last 34 games after starting the season 7-23.

Good to have the TNT pregame guys back (90 minutes tonight). Shaq was late :)

This is like Herb Kohl and Hammond going for Skiles in 2008. He'll yell and defense them into a 41-41 season at some point, but later the dysfunction and lack of talent will sink them.

Anyone else a fan of the Ian Eagle/SVG team?

I've never really been a fan of Eagle despite all the praise he gets. Too vanilla for me. SVG is awesome, though.

Or like Phil Jackson going to the Knicks. Has the org changed at all?

Man, I love Eagle. One of my favorite announcers. I think the pairing is really good.

In a semi related note, I think Brian Anderson is excellent at announcing basketball. Maybe even better than baseball. (Waits for Twirl’s post, hating BA) lol

This actually doesn’t feel that un-normal.

The NBA has done an absolutely incredible job with this.

Thank god for basketball being back! Cheers boys
