The Michael Jordan MVP trophy should be a giant bronzed pair of extra-roomy jeans and it should be sponsored by Jordache, I have no thoughts on the other awards.

Weird, it's almost like some of us were simply pointing out that their offense relies too much on unsustainable 3PT flamethrowing and nothing to do with "disrespecting" them or whatever nonsense.

:dontknow:

I never quite got the Eastern Seaboarders soiling themselves over a few weeks of games and defaulting right to ridiculous superlatives, like so:

The Boston Celtics are scoring and shooting the basketball better than any offense in NBA history.

Literally.

They have tallied the best offensive rating, effective field goal percentage, free throw percentage and true shooting percentage in league history, while also making the most 3-point shots per game.

This strikes me as similar to comparing some rando with a 15-game hitting streak to Ted Williams, but a lot of talking heads have been spewing it recently. I guess all the smug analytics guys slept through the significance chapter in Statistics 101.

It feels like within a few centuries there may be a Jordan based religious faith.

Get an award named after you and you've got staying power. Just ask this guy:

Nets haven't played anyone over the last few weeks except for the Celtics, who they lost to. Interested to see if their comeback is real or not.

Brutal for Cade, he was steadily improving. Imagine Detroit landing Wembanyama and having to play against them 4x.

Holy ****.

On his shin? Unless he has a multiple fracture from a car crash, I dunno what it could be.

Or is DET just seriously tanking this year?

Its stress fractures or more intense shin splints. Assumes he's been playing through the pain for awhile and its gone too far. Only way to heal is to basically stop putting impact on them.

Some of you mocked me when I wanted him for the same money (or less) than we gave Jingles. At least I felt mocked. I may be what the alpha males call a "snowflake".

Anywho, the jury is still out but it is my belief that Walker would have been just as effective with us. Obviously rooting for Jingles to do his thing, but a younger guard would have been a nice way to spend that money.

John Havliczyk (sp?) was good, but the 6th Man of the Year award should be named after JR Smith. The trophy should either be a a) section of plumbing or b) a bowl of soup.

Feeling some second-hand embarrassment about these trophies.

Yeah, I guess I don't really care if they name awards after great players, but the optics of naming the "most clutch player" award after a guy who famously went 1-8 in the NBA Finals is uh.....interesting.

This would’ve been the perfect opportunity to introduce an Offensive Player of the Year Award.

The most improved player trophy should be a bowl.
The most improved player trophy should be named after Bol Bol.
Bol Bol should be the inaugural winner of the award.
The headlines should read "Bol Bol, Bol Bol Bowl."

The "Jake Voskuhl thought we brought in a hired goon but he didn't take guys out and I was surprisingly bummed" award.
