What's even better than Giannis 4 on 3 coming downhill from the FT line? Giannis coming downhill 3 on 2 because somebody is face guarding the 65% 3pt shooter in the corner.

This board complains that we dont have enough good 3 pt shooters on this team(aka boston) yet we have one a very good one albeit young n posters wanna wave him.I kniw hauser is alot taller hes not known as a D guy in favt hes not good on D at all but they can sure find time in thst lineup to use someone like that.He nsy never be nothing more than a role player but guys thst shoot that good there has to be a spot on a roster for him?

I’m not like outright panicking or anything, but Khris not fully practicing in either of the first two days of camp is not exactly inspiring confidence if I’m being honest. I get that you want to be careful with him, but his cleanup procedure was 4 months ago and reportedly a minor one that had him back on court in July. Idk man. Hopefully he is able to go rest of the way, although at this rate it sounds like he’s probably not gonna play in the first preseason game.

Not sure if I am more impressed you could read it or that you quoted your own response. I'm beginning to think Chones is afoot.

I think this is exactly right. With Pat in the starting 5, I think we are small favorites in the East. With Marjon and AJJ as productive rotation pieces, I think we are pretty clearly ahead.

The target I have in mind is for one of them to approach 2021 Cam Johnson productivity

Comeon people stop with the extreme overhype on AJJ wtf this guy doesnt shoot has got nothing going for him on O

Daver, I'll keep this simple, can you explain to me any given scenario where you want any of AJJ, Pat, MarJon, Beasley or <insert name here> trying to score in a situation over Dame, Middleton, Giannis or Brook assuming they are the other four on the court?

Most likely not, though I suppose you could get into extremely specific situations.

If that is the case, I personally don't believe you want or need a scorer, nor do I think the Raptors history (starting raw guys like OG, Barnes and even Sikiam) care about having all 5 scorers out there.

What we need is a guy that can be a good perimeter defender and take the tougher assignments so Dame and Middleton don't have to. I'll also say that I think who starts is super irrelevant and who closes is of far more importance to me.

Agreed that the Bucks don't need the fifth starter to score. But they do need him to at least be a threat to score in the halfcourt. AJJ is such a non-threat as a scorer that it practically becomes a 4-on-5 when he's out there, which significantly reduces the impact of the other four. I'm sure there's a way to design an offense that accentuates his strengths, but is the coaching staff really going to prioritize his effectiveness? I wouldn't.

I just don't have a clear understanding of why he is being held out of practice if everything is fine. Griffin was talking in circles about it to Nehm, it made no sense. I was joking about people reacting irrationally to him missing practice but it is strange.

I mentioned it before, but giving more young guys looks with Dame and Giannis is not a bad thing. But would be nice to reach the playoffs with a healthy top 8

A threat not to hit a 3 pointer or not to score? A threat not to score or a threat that the defense doesn't have to worry about?

Damn, he may be the ball handler sometimes and you have him surrounded by shooters other than Giannis or he may just be a backdoor cutter that you can throw an ally oop too. But there is plenty of offense in him, just maybe not shooting threes.

Against the Celtics, put him on Jrue. If Jrue sets a screen, trap the ballhandler and leave Jrue open. If Jrue tries to go one on one with Dame and is taking the ball and usage away from Tatum, cool.

Against the Heat, put him in Richardson. If Richardson wants to go at him and take usage from Jimmy and Bam, again cool.

Even if teams can force mismatches on switches, just tell Dame to play tight D and not worry about getting blown by. If someone gets past him into the lane, Giannis and Brook can help cover.

And all that is before the new head coach even does anything with strategy, such as pre switching, to take away easy methods to hunt him.

AJJ is going to be really good. I fully believe in his ability to be a good basketball player. I’m still hoping Marjon puts it all together but AJJ absolutely can make a impact being the glue guy

I'm telling myself to not worry to much about it until he's still not ready in the preseason or home opener. The fact that he can't even commit to him playing when the season opens definitely point to "everything's fine"

Dame is going to get hunted and killed in the playoffs and it’s really not much we can do about it. We just have to score more and he has to put extra effort in to get enough stops to offset that. That’s perfectly fine, we’re a better playoff team than we were last season.

I just said that I’m assuming Khris is healthy 3 days ago but I’m going to assume the opposite now after half a season of rest and knee surgery and he’s still not practicing. Still riding the high from the dame trade and seeing him on billboards around the city driving but this Khris injury is starting to be a buzzkill. It doesn’t really work that well without him out there.

Idk Pat felt like a Bud guy. You guys anointing him starter with this coach might be off base.. I doubt he's thr favorite and expect him to have an uphill climb trying to start.

If Khris has a good playoffs, we win the Championship. If Khris is a shell of his former self, it doesn't matter who we can reasonably bring in at SG, we're screwed.
