I’ve seen enough from Horst to know nobody is off limits except for Giannis and Thanasis. He would trade Dame tomorrow if it meant getting a better player.

I think he'd do it for a clear upgrade. I don't think he's doing it for anything less than a clear upgrade

An elite defender would be a clear upgrade. Pat is very valuable to this team, he is a glue guy and that may very well be under appreciated, but he is a puzzle piece with a tradable salary. I do not think anyone wants to see him go, but there certainly is a chance he could.

Some of you get so sentimental about role players

Well i doubt very highly we would steam roll we might to the 1st round then get knocked out cause bud was to stupid to adjust again

Or we would’ve been the most successful team in the league like most of his tenure here :dontknow:

I'm not sure the Bucks agree with you. Especially when Pat is one of the few players that shows up every year in the playoffs.

They certainly may not, I am not arrogant enough to think that my thought process is even remotely close to the discussions that take place in the Bucks front office.

Probably the two decades of toxic culture and over paying role players to come here that end up sucking on **** contracts

I know all this talk about the drop defense is for my benefit and yes, you guys did get me excited. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Go Bucks.

We'll do that without him too. We'll shoot better with him gone, and the youngsters will show more development. Yes, Bud was super organized, he was perfectly aligned with analytics, but his non existent practice schedule simply wasn't paying off.

Well if fans weren't sentimental, irrational, and emotional sports wouldn't be a thing. Because if you look at it rationally the whole rooting for dudes wearing your teams jersey playing a game is pretty silly. Then looking at how worked up fans get about the outcomes it's even more absurd because none of this **** means anything.

Losing fan favorite Portis would be a tough sell, but it likely wouldn't take long for the fine folks of Milwaukee to make Caruso their new favorite.

We get attached to players, and if we're lucky, they get attached to the city/state/fanbase. At the end of the day, winning it all matters most.

Sorry, read the headlines and not the entire story. Either way, I would not make any changes unless there is a huge upgrade. We had more than enough change, looks like we are finally settling down, why cause problems. Sure if you can trade Bobby/Pat C. for a Marcus Smart of another defensive minded guard to put next to Dame I get it.....but I am not just trading them for a minor upgrade at this point.

Horst needs to pull another rabbit out of the hat and make a move to get an athletic defender/rebounding wing or for ward using the bottom three guys on the roster and seconds only. Keep Pat and Bobby unless it’s for a major talent upgrade. Caruso doesn’t fit that Bill or move the needle enough

My guess is that if there are people wanting an addition to the rotation, theyre gonna have to wait for buyout season.

Bucks are almost entirely locked out of buyout season because as a second apron team, they can’t sign anyone whose original salary was greater than the MLE. The list of potential buy out guys with a low enough salary to qualify is bleak.

Any upgrades they want to make have to be done via trade.

Noting for everyone proposing trades - this is the list of tradeable draft picks the Bucks have in their possession between now and draft night:
2024 Portland 2nd
2027 Bucks 2nd

That’s it. That’s the list.

The Bucks do currently also own the following firsts but they are not allowed to trade them until they either make the actual selection of a player (can’t be before) or acquire another first to replace it (this is due to the rule that requires teams make at least one first round pick every other year):
2024 worse of their pick and the Pels pick
2026 worse of their pick and the Pels pick
2028 worse of their pick and the Blazers pick
2030 worse of their pick and the Blazers pick

The 2024 draft pick could be traded on draft night (or after) once it is made. So they could agree to a trade shortly before the draft and pick a specific player that they instantly send to another team in a trade but it can’t be used during this current season before the trade deadline.

Pels have swap rights and Bucks can’t trade it anyway because the Pels own the Bucks 25 first and you have to have a first at least every other year.

Basically Bucks have no firsts they can trade until draft night 2024.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
