A challenge we got is our depth is bad but if we target a player with a larger contract it could get even worse.

Would Bruce Brown for Bobby + Pat make us better? Or doesn’t move the needle enough to be worth it vs other options?

If there’s a follow up move for a big man (signing PJ if he’s bought out or something) it’d be different than if there isn’t. Whether or not Toronto would require MarJon and / or the Portland 2nd comes into the equation too.

Didn't realize things were this restrictive:

Starting with the first day of the offseason, teams over the second apron in 2023-24:

• can't take back more salary in a trade;
• are not allowed to aggregate contracts;
• are restricted from sending out cash in deals;
• and are restricted from using preexisting trade exceptions to acquire a player.

The trade thread here is gonna die.

Is he just in Nurses dog house or something? Even as depleted as Philly has been recently he’s just not getting much run. Or is he hurt? We definitely could use a physical athlete like him.

Sixers are shopping him for a second round pick because they don’t have playing time for him and aren’t going to resign him

He’s definitely a solid buy low candidate if we can just use a 2027 2nd and a meaningless contract. Who matches we can send out? I don’t think we’d move out Robin, Thanasis or Crowder for him but I would lol.

I think the bigger problem is if we don’t have any bench pieces that are a positive on the court, the “depth” we have just doesn’t exist anyway. If you consolidate contracts to bring in a player who’s a needle mover, your playable depth is improving anyways.

We’ll still have riotpunch putting good stuff out, but I do think this highlights the importance of consolidating contracts now while we still can, and bringing back dudes who are cost controlled for a few seasons.

We could flip 1 for 2 in the future, and that’s easier to do with a 20m contract than 10m.

A vast majority of the trade ideas here are impossible/unrealistic anyway.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The real harsh penalties for the second apron hit when you're over 3 times in 5 years. It will be interesting to see how the bucks and other team maneuver that.

One positive is it looks like the cap/tax/apron numbers are going to steadily climb 10% per year for at least the next few years.

Draftkings prediction of all places:

The Milwaukee Bucks make a deal for Tyus Jones

The Bucks were in trade rumors for Hawks guard Dejounte Murray, who seems like a surefire candidate to be dealt. However, Milwaukee likely doesn’t have the salary fillers and draft assets to make that kind of move happen. The Bucks could potentially look at a reunion with Malcolm Brogdon as well, but the same issues arise. Jones is on an expiring deal and could be had for a much lower cost. The Wizards point guard would shore up Milwaukee’s defense at the point of attack while also giving Giannis Antetokounmpo another shooter. Moving into a bench role would be an adjustment but the fit is obvious.

Curious how the Bucks view not being able to aggregate salaries.

If we want a bigger tradeable salary slot that could impact our motivation for aggregating Bobby/Pat's salary at the deadline while we can.

Don't understand the Tyus Jones stuff at all. Is it really imperative that we upgrade those 10-15 Cam Payne minutes? His shooting also, predictably, falls off a cliff in the postseason cuz tiny-PG things...

Yeah of course Jones would be a Payne upgrade but with the Bucks limited assets that seems like a luxury and better spent on other needs.

Tyus Jones might be a better fit than Dame. Don't @ me because this isn't Twitter and @'s don't work.

Lillard for Jones, Gafford, Avdija, and Davis works salary wise :)

Not going to solve depth overnight unless you trade one of the big 4. Lot of us knew that the Jrue trade a few years ago would kill us down he road. It worked. We go the chip but now here we sit.

Then you trade Brook or Midds. There is no going back now. You have to make it work with Giannis and Dame. Is it even realistic that we could trade one of the 2 at this point?

Trade Brook, reference his lack of commitment these past two games. Set the tone.

If the Bucks were looking at a Middleton or BroLo trade so soon after they extended we'd be keeping it just as quiet as our Dame pursuit.

Seems more likely that big of a move would be in the offseason.

However if the right deal is available Horst has definitely shown he isn't afraid to pull the trigger, and he'd play PR clean up to keep Giannis clean.

"Depth" is **** overrated and that's a hill I'll always die on, because it's proven over and over again every postseason. The Nuggets essentially played a 6-man rotation last year in the playoffs. We had one of the deepest teams in the league last season and it didn't matter one bit once Giannis went down. The only thing I'd be desperate to address is the backup big minutes because I don't know how anyone has any faith in Bobby being able to hang defensively in any matchup past the 1st round. It's all about getting the best 6-man playoff rotation possible, and even with limited assets and cap flexibility, it really shouldn't be that hard when you already have 4-5 of those spots filled.
