You can keep your weapons in a lightning storm. You just can't be holding them.

But I agree the lightning storms are annoying. Not as bad once you get the rubber armour.

Really? So just equip a non-metal item and I'm good? I don't have to drop them? Because I've noticed that even if I put the weapons "away" I'm still sparking somehow.

LOL, it was the WORST. Standing there, watching the strikes just ruin my stuff.

But then I just reloaded an recent save and fled to a stable as quickly as I could to avoid the storm headed in my direction. :D

Have to remove armour as well. Just look in your inventory. Anything that isn't sparkling is good to hold/wear

Dope, thanks for the tip. I probably learned that when I first started playing a couple years ago, lol. Still steadily remembering things I've forgotten.

I've been playing Remnant: from the Ashes with a couple of buddies, and we're having a pretty good time with it. Shooting feels good, the lore is interesting, and the world has been surprisingly fun to explore. I've seen it compared to Souls, which I think is a bit off-target. It has checkpoints, fog gates, and leverages invincibility frames in fights, but it's not nearly as difficult, and there's almost no punishment for dying. Definitely recommend co-op with a friend of two if you have a chance.

Play it so I have someone to talk about it with! :D

What's wild is that the game is old enough that there aren't any big-name guides online. I'm not using one for Trails in-depth anyways, but check-in before I leave areas to make sure I didn't miss any items (which I underatand is a thing). But I've resorted to using the best guide available on GameFAQs, which I forgot existed, which is hilarious.

How's your current character doing? Noticed it looked like you started a new one?

I got frustrated at how tough it was to farm bosses even after the patch as Zane so I started a FL4K run. Things are certainly easier. I like that my interest hasn't died at all even after playing much of the game three times now. I'm sure I'll have all the characters at level 50 by the time the first level cap increase hits.

I haven’t played SP much, so my Fl4k is still around 23 I think. My other char which you saw is Zane, which I use playing MP with some buddies. I do not like Zane, which is disappointing. He’s weak as a kitten.

I’m still immensely interested myself and am thinking of playing SP tonight - I’ve just been giving my gaming time to Trails mostly the past week.

Set up my first activated indium farm in No Man's Sky. This pretty much breaks part of the game in the amount of $$$ you get by selling it.

Has anyone here opened their PS4 and cleaned off the dust from fans/ventilation etc.? Just curious if it's as easy as everything suggests (I have a fairly old model, maybe version after release model/before PS4 slim).

I heavily recommend DQ11 over Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Watch some in-depth videos on XB2 combat and try to gauge if it would be for you before you jump in. It isn't that it isn't deep, but it is very different and not for all. It wore on me and I stopped after ~40 hours, which is about 1/5 of the game.

Xenoblade Chronicles is definitely a weird-ass JRPG. If you play JRPGs for the stories, it really gets... out there. DQ11 is definitely more trope-y and sticks more to the traditional formula, which makes it, imo a better game.

Hmm, good to know. I think it sounds like I’m better off just waiting for now. Luigi’s Mansion 3 is looking good and I’d rather not buy a huge JRPG for $60 if I’m iffy on them and go for a game that feels more like a sure thing.

There are so many games now and upcoming I want to play, all of the sudden. BL3 I am only ~1/2 through on my first character (and will also be playing off-and-on with some friends for a while, I am sure); Trails is great but now, in Chapter 2, it's clear that this is a slower burn so I've slowed down, but want to push on as I know it's just the beginning of a 3-game saga; Spiderman GOTY edition is on sale right now for $32 on PSN; Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a title I want to pick up and I think that would be a 60h+ RPG, which looks lovely and in the vein of a DQ11; Outer Worlds comes out at the end of the month; DQB2 continues to call my name back to it to tackle the third island.

Jesus. I don't know where to spend my time, and if I should pick up anything else right now. I've wanted Spiderman for years (before it came out), and Ni No Kuni has been on my list since I discovered what it was. Outer Worlds was going to be a day-one purchase for me, but maybe not now. I don't know.

I think, because of the number of things I want to play right now, I might end up not playing as much BL3 as I otherwise would have right up front. I'm sure it's game I will return to often, though, in droughts - much like D3 and PoE.

All this **** needs to be done by March next year. FF7R will own me.

ETA: ****, I really want the new Yooka-Laylee game, too.

Stay strong, finish a few things. I bet Spider-Man will have a good holiday sale with a few of those other games. It’s only October.

Here's a list of the PS5 features from Kotaku:

It’ll be called the PS5 and be out for holiday 2020, as we’ve been reporting.

The console will have a solid-state drive. Games will be released on 100GB discs.

Like the PlayStation 4 Pro, the PlayStation 5 reads physical media via a 4K Blu-ray drive.

As with games this generation, they’ll need to be installed from the disc, though Sony is now saying that players will have more granular control of which parts of a game they install or uninstall—campaign, multiplayer, etc.

The PS5’s revised user interface will show more information about what can be done in a game, including the availability of multiplayer matches.

Wired’s writer held a prototype of the new PS5 controller and wrote that it seems similar to a PS4 controller. It will include a speaker and—here comes some of the jargon you’ll start to see reporters and game makers using to discuss next-gen hardware—“‘adaptive triggers’ that can offer varying levels of resistance to make shooting a bow and arrow feel like the real thing.”

Wired was also impressed with the improved haptics/rumble in the controller, reporting this of their time using it to play demos created by the Studio Japan team behind PS4 VR game Astrobot Rescue Mission: “On ice, a high-frequency response made the thumbsticks really feel like my character was gliding. Jumping into a pool, I got a sense of the resistance of the water; on a wooden bridge, a bouncy sensation.”

For those of you who stocked up on micro USB wires for charging PS4 controllers, too bad! The PS5 controllers will be charged with USB Type-C.

One studio that is now confirmed as a PS5 developer is Bluepoint Games, makers of the 2018 Shadow of the Colossus remake. Said studio president Marco Thrush to Wired: “We’re working on a big one right now...I’ll let you figure out the rest.” Uh. Hmm. Clearly a tease that Sony has bought the rights to F-Zero and is making a new one. Thrush was enthusiastic about the speedier loading that comes with an SSD, noting that there’d be less reason to slow players down in hallways and doorways to mask the loading of new levels.

Sony’s announcements today primarily focus on the new controller, which is the main focus of Sony Interactive Entertainment president Jim Ryan’s blog post today. “Game creators have started to receive early versions of the new controller,” he wrote, “and we can’t wait to see where their imagination goes with these new features at their disposal.” With controllers going out, the news today seems designed to get ahead of any leaks of the device.

I'm sure I'll end up getting one at launch, especially with them being backward compatible. I know I'll get one eventually, and it'll be forever for them to come down in price, so might as well be an early adopter.

I'm going to wait a bit before buying it - it only took about a year to see some pretty nice bundle deals on the PS4. But I might get a little bit antsy as the hype starts to build, so who knows.
