Jrue’s wife’s post seed pretty benign to me. She essentially said they will miss the community they worked hard to put roots down in. A heads up would have made them feel more appreciated and prepared to move on. But it is what it is and they are moving forward. That all seems reasonable and genuine, to me.

What surprised me the most about Lauren Holiday's Instagram post was her saying that Jrue found out about the trade from breaking news reports after waking up from a nap.

Like, we couldn't reach out to him to let him know it was done? He had to find out like everyone else? That seems like BS to me.

I mean do we know the timeline of when these things get reported? Woj/Shams are psychopaths who very frequently are tweeting this stuff literally within seconds of it becoming official. And it makes zero sense for the team to let them know before it becomes official.

Ideally not just Jrue but Grayson, Toumani Camara, Nassir Little, Ayton, Nurkic and Dame would've all been informed by their teams that they're being traded before it becomes public. But all it takes is one person that's involved in this process to give the information to Woj or Shams and in this instance I would bet a fairly significant sum of money that a certain Portland Assistant GM texted Woj the trade within a minute of it being agreed to.

It makes all the sense in the world to inform the player last. It's cold, but if you're the teams and you're trying to get a deal done, the last thing you want is a player doing or saying something to **** it up.

Provided there isn't a no trade clause in play, agents and players are going to know when the league knows.

These deals are always public before the league knows. And I think Harden and Kyrie are the only 2 players in the league that if you agreed to a deal and informed them before it was made public there would be legitimate reason to be concerned that they could go public to try to torpedo the deal.

I'm surprised by that too. Especially because during Grayson Allen's presser with the Suns, he mentioned he had 3 missed calls while playing FIFA and it wasn't until his Wife saw the report that he saw the missed calls. I doubt they would try to call Grayson and forget to do the same with Jrue, but who knows...

Further investigation needed to find out if Lauren neglected to mention missed calls. 8-)

Obviously we make this trade. It's also okay for him to be disappointed as the guy who got traded away when he loved the team, his teammates, and embraced being here. Like - we want that, right?

I'd change my mind if he was trying to throw us under the bus in public or pulling a Harden. But he isn't (that I've seen). IMO I'll let him be. He's not a Buck anymore anyways - it's Dame time.

I fully agree with you. Except that Jrue is still a Buck in my book. I’ll never look at him and see him as not a Milwaukee Buck. Just feel like he belongs here. I think he feels the same, which is why he is so hurt.

Do you think part of this trade with jrue was because of his contract cause if he declines his PO next year hes looking at a 4/ 250 more than dames getting n 1 year longer

No doubt.

I’ve tried to point out numerous times that Jrue will be more highly paid than Dame at the start of the 24-25 season. With the second apron, that’s a crippling deal.

Why did Scalabrine & Isola score a Milwaukee day named in their honor?

I listened to Simmons and Rusillo talking about the Jrue trade and it wasn't as homerific as Simmons' initial comments right after the Dame trade. I did think the 'Celtics have the best top 6' conversation was kinda funny. For one, it was just taken as gospel when I think its at best very debatable. Personally, I'd take both the Bucks and Lakers top 6 over Boston's. But that's kinda beside the point. What I really thought was funny about it was that the whole thought was clearly based entirely on trying to find some metric by which the Celtics would be considered the best. At least when you do best duo or best trio, there's an implicit understanding of how this translates to being good. But top 6 is such an arbitrary metric and I just don't know Why having the best top 6 would supersede having the best top 7 or top 8?

The world would be a little better place had the race to be the first to break news on a trade never became some great honor.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

My hot take is that we do not need Shams AND Woj. One of them should go work in the mines, flip a coin.

Counterpoint, they both push each other to work harder.

Similar to WWE vs WCW. The WWE product was great when they had competition, then fell off as soon as they were all alone at #1.

Or Madden/NBA Live vs 2k sports.

Everyone needs someone to push them.

Yeah, I was not too happy with that. However, if Portland just finally settled and said "Ok, we will take Jrue/Grayson/picks if you accept now" then we accepted. Someone immediately leaked it and we never got the chance to contact Jrue yet.

Still sucks, I would have rather our front office take a moment to reach out to Jrue and let him know.
