You can't just "dump" someone. You can't release someone, you're still on the hook for the salary. Trading Pat for a pick would work, but the other team would have to have cap space AND want Pat AND want to give up a pick.

Pelicans get fleeced in this trade and Milwaukee is the beneficiary. We would need to include the 2031 1st (unprotected) and AJax and Green to even be in the ball park. I also think the Lakers would need to send out Rui instead of Russell as the PELs would consider him more valuable.

I agree but can see why Horst could be leery just giving his minutes to AJax and Green since both need to improve defensively to play 15-20 meaningful minutes a night in the playoffs.

Ingram is obviously younger but he absolutely tanked Pels in this last years playoffs, he was truly dreadful on a level we've never seen Khris. You're probably just getting worse but younger if you go for Ingram

Is a Dame/Ingram combo playable defensively? Man, makes me think drafting Dunn would have solved a lot of problems or opened up a lot of options
