Intrigued by how many names we are being linked too. Good to know Horst isn't just sitting around on his butt and he's trying to make the team better. Maybe...just maybe... he's halfway decent at this?

I guess his value wasn't as high as people thought.

Lets get this deal done.

They probably want him for a three way trade with the Clippers.

Get him, he's probably the most underrated player in the league

I'm game for MOOSE to return. Doubt it happens though.

We can't sign Moose. Not allowed.

He can’t. It’s part of that rule they made a few years back. Jerry Stackhouse rule? Or whoever it was

Think it's only for thirty days.

Per CBA FAQ
When a team trades a player who is subsequently waived by the receiving team, it cannot claim the player off waivers or re-sign the player until the one-year anniversary of the trade, or until the July 1 following the end of his contract, whichever is earlier.

What you are thinking of is being traded after being claimed off of waivers.
If a team claims a player on waivers, it cannot trade the player for 30 days if the claim was made during a season. If the player was claimed during the offseason, he cannot be traded until the 30th day of the following season.

Unless I am mistaken, and there's some weird wiggle room, we can't sign Moose until July 1 if we want him back.

We're not allowed to bring Moose back? It would be so perfect! Boston? This is even worse!

Zach Lowe talked about DAJ with Lakers lady and Lee Jenkins. The consensus was that DAJ will opt out this summer but then would likely agree to something like 3/$90 (Milsap type deal) or the like since hard to see anyone paying him the max. I don't see him getting 3/$90.

What do we think we’d offer for Monk?

Hornets have an extra big man they could send us too presumably but Gery doesn’t mention it here.

ON GUARD: While most of the trade chatter concerning the Bucks has revolved around centers – DeAndre Jordan, Hassan Whiteside, JaVale McGee, etc. – the Bucks have explored obtaining a shooting guard.

League sources said the Bucks had contacted the Hornets about rookie Malik Monk, the 11th overall pick in last June’s draft.

There is apparently a split in the Hornets’ hierarchy as to whether they should keep Monk or move him. Monk has struggled for much of the season, averaging a pedestrian 5.2 points on just 33 percent shooting.

Monk’s best game of the season came against the Bucks on Nov. 1. He torched them for 25 points, connecting of five of eight treys.

He will clear waivers but we still can't sign him. From the CBA:

Article VII, Section 3.

(h) If a Team trades a player and the assignee Team subsequently places the player on waivers, the assignor Team shall not be permitted to sign the player to a new Contract (or claim the player off of waivers) before the earlier of: (i) one (1) year following the date all conditions to the trade were satisfied; or (ii) the July 1 following the last Season of the player’s Player Contract.

Wilson for Vaughn for Zeller/2nd, (or just Vaughn straight up) whatever gets that done. Unload Snell for Abrines/Patterson. Two under the radar moves that would do this club a world of good.

He'd need to be acquired by another team and then waived again.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
