According to Hoopsrumors "The second round of interviews for the Bucks is expected to include dialogue with two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, Marc Stein writes at Substack. Horst told reporters earlier this month that he expected to get input from Antetokounmpo during the team’s coaching search."

I wouldn't expect anything else, especially given how it happened the same way with Bud.

It was said on one of our radio shows that raps did their investigation and concluded it was fabricated and that lawyers got involved and she walked her comments back (as he was threatening defamation) and then the kids also said there was nothing and backed up.

I'm sorry but I'm not just going to believe the Raptors at their word. There are numerous examples of sports teams and corporations covering up for powerful people within their organization. The fact that this was settled out of court at all adds legitimacy to the fact there was some truth to these allegations imo. If it wasn't true it would be logical that he'd want to clear his name rather than just paying her off

You are making stuff up. He never paid her off. He threatened defamation and she took her words back. If these serious allegations were true, why didn't she move forward with it legally? You don't have to believe it but I followed the story when it came out

Link to them settling please? I really want to read that information.

It is very common for DV victims to not go forward with things in a legal matter for various reasons. This really isn't the right place to get into the ins and outs of domestic violence and the legal issues around it but just because a victim doesn't press charges doesn't mean it didn't happen.

He might be innocent or guilty of those allegations, frankly we will likely never know the full truth behind it, but I don't want anyone associated with those kind of allegations to be in a leadership position on the team I root for. And Adrian Griffin is hardly such a great candidate where we couldn't hire a similarly qualified candidate without this type of baggage

No one is changing anyone's mind about Griffin. Time to move on.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Exactly. Giannis shouldn't (and won't) have the final say but you certainly include him.

Moving on, can someone explain what is attractive about Adrian Griffin? He's an unproven assistant so we have no idea if he'd be good at in game playoff adjustments, and he's coming from a team that has struggled with their half court offense the last few years and has basically only been an assistant to defensive 1st head coaches.

From what I can tell on this board most would put those 2 issues as the top areas that need to be fixed with a new coach and neither seem to be an area of strength for Griffin(or Atkinson for that matter)

Has Griffin interviewed with any other team?

Has anyone verified that those three are the only finalists? Feels like there is an unnamed dark horse candidate…just a gut feeling.

The part about players wanting a players coach rather than a coach who is a great basketball mind is discouraging

That was something that Jim wrote about over the weekend in the JS:

A league source familiar with the Bucks search said they felt like Horst liked a coach with a bit of an edge when it came to their style, but Budenholzer’s stiffness wasn’t limited to the whiteboard either. Going forward, there is a desire among some Bucks players that the next coach be able to connect a bit more personally.

Woyld you expect anything different the buck players have been pampered n coddled fpr the rime bud was here never held accountable by the coach and buds i dont give a sh.. about the RS approach wore off on the players. Why woukd rhey want a stricter im holding you accountable if you suck coach.
Nurse will practice them harder n i expect will demand more of them diring the game.
Can see the buck players already worried about practices n actually getting into shape during the preseason

What's funny is if those reddit posts are too be believed the Bucks players preferred Ham to Bud because he was seen as more of a players coach.

Real or perceived, feel like there are some cracks beginning to show in the Nurse armor. Still think you exhaust the Brad Stevens route and then maybe turn your attention to Kenny Atkinson as option B if you don't think Nurse is the right culture fit.

Nurse is giving me some George Karl vibes at the moment.

The soft frauds prefer a player's coach.

No ****....lol.

Hurry up and hire Nurse and and make some moves to try and get some competitors on this team.
