This doesn't look overly delusional:

Giannis/KPJ: +21 per 100
Giannis/Green: +15
Giannis/Bobby: +12
Giannis/Trent: +11
Giannis/Rollins: +9
-----
Giannis/Brook: +6
Giannis/Dame: +5
Giannis/Prince: +4
Giannis/Kuz: +4
Giannis/Ajax: -1

And fire Doc!

we need a couple shooters that can defend(aj and gtj)...a couple guards that can get to the paint and compete maybe shoot some(kpj and rollins)...... bigs that can move and switch(sims...portis and kuz are marginal)

and thats it. thats all.

we already have guys like this. its mostly done.

we need to move the guys that dont check these boxes. bring a couple more in that fit this mold.

do it within budget. maybe dump dame...maybe move him later.

that needs to be the offseason if giannis stays.

I think this is largely right. The only thing I'd add is we need a solid switchable wing defender. I keep coming back to Bruce Brown.

1) Convince KPJ and Trent to take a 1 yr deal that gives us bird rights and pay them next year (maybe use the BAE on Trent)
2) Bruce Brown gets the MLE
3) Extend Green & Portis (they help next year and give you some tradeable contracts going forward)
4) Sign Rollins and Sims to reasonable multi year deals

KPJ / Rollins / Dame
Trent / Green
Brown / Pat / AJAX
Giannis / Kuzma
Portis / Sims

im almost of the opinion we go with a 3 guard front. i like defenders in the porter/ajg/rollins mold with super active athletic bigs behind them.

those bigger active wing defenders of the past are all more suited to pf these days

id switch sims and portis on your depth chart to accomplish that look. obviously an upgrade would help there but hed do for now

kpj
gtj
ajg
giannis
sims

thats my lineup. let kpj take the bigger assignments. ajg could too. on offense wed run and shoot them off the court

At the very least that's a fun offensive lineup and Giannis is stacking stats. 1st rd exit though.

Disagree with you about BP (shocking isn't it).

It's a decent debate about how much he's worth, but length doesn't bother me, for two reasons:

1) The most important is that BP doesn't rely on quickness or athleticism. There's no reason to think he won't be the same player he has been. His great rebounding doesn't rely on any of those attributes. He has great instincts on the boards and that's not going away.

2) He's a hard worker. A new contract isn't going to change that.

The Bucks could probably land a late frp from an apron team for a few million.

thats the version of the lineup that was very competitive with indy tho. make it deeper, commit to it, get to know it.... and we got them.

if we can play with indy as a smaller faster hodge podge that isnt even coached properly after theyd had no real court time to gel in those roles....then i dont see how you can say its necessarily a first round exit team if we keep adding talent that fits that new mentality.

also....to me.....kpj, ajg, sims, rollins....all those guys have a ton of upside in the system im suggesting. i have no idea what the ceiling would be. wed be a really young team. youd have to assume progression right?

Horst has to focus on locking up KPJ, Trent, Green and Bobby. I wouldn't prioritize giving Rollins a significant deal. I really like the idea of trying to send Dame to Utah for Sexton and Collins but Horst vs Ainge wont be pretty.

Feels about as likely as the Giannis for Butler swap that an actual NBA writer is suggesting.

Every argument for Giannis leaving applies to Steph and then some. I cant imagine how trade value is super high. Him or Durant would be my goal.

Bobby is past the "I have enough money, no need to keep trying" risk nexus at this point. There's one when players get to the league and one when they get their first big contract. Should be clear by now he's motivated by more than that, with over 60m in career earnings.

I really just want to expand on what we had at the end of the year.

Don’t target a traditional small forward if the dude isn’t a major shooter or a star that brings other things.

I’d happily bring Trent back, but if we can’t, then look into Joe, Hauser, Cam, MPJ.

Hell, I’d probably look into those guys even if we brought Trent back.

There's really a long list of gettable guys we could target, from Mamu to reclamation projects like Kispert, young players who haven't yet shown it like Hawk in NO, or guys who've bounced around like Lindy Waters. I just don't think it's going to be that difficult to get the kinds of players around Giannis to make this thing hum.

It would be great to have the proverbial True PG who can defend and shoot and take the pressure off KPJ, leaving him as more of an x factor, but it's negotiable. Get the smart shooters you can get, pick up Khris as a buyout, and let's find out who can guard Giannis one on one.

Any chance Memphis would trade JJJr? They have Edey.

Kuzma
‘31 1st
Green
2 2nds

Does that get it done?
still learning the game

Any teams we could do a Brook sign and trade with? Or Portis if he opts out? Maybe even GTJ?

I think they got Edey for JJJ. He needs somebody who's going to do the dirty work in the paint.

Bobby concerns with a new contract have nothing to do with his work ethic and everything to do with the fact that he’ll be 33 and 34-years old in the final two years of it.

Id try to get Keldon Johnson instead of Bruce Brown

Nickeil Alexander Walker, Isaac Okoro, and Aaron Wiggins are other options.

Yeah, I'm a Bobby backer, but I'd like to get a young apprentice behind him.

The Warriors are the team that would need to do a sign and trade for Brook. Dunleavey is dumb enough to do it.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
