Hmm..

Good job Johnny.

Don't you go drafting Tyler Zeller or John Henson now.

Can Moute and Daly really play big minutes in the same front court?

I'd like to be convinced, but our great passing from last year will certainly devolve, and that bodes ill if we're going with a Jennings / Ellis chuckfest in the backcourt.

Ersan at least would be positioned to put up big numbers if he plays between Moute / Daly. I think he'd really benefit from not having to play next to Gooden too.

I'm down with that.

I think this is probably our best frontcourt based on 82games

Dunleavy/LRMAM
Ilyasova/Sanders
Dalembert/Udoh

Harris gets squeezed out unless Dunleavy falls off a cliff. I'd be fine with that if we're trying to win now. He's still young.

We are still in the 2011-2012 season. Once the trade deadline passes you are free to trade again once your season is over, but cannot trade players whose contracts are ending or whose contracts could end via an option year. If you trade a player like that, you must first pick up the option year before finalizing the trade.

ETA: Just noticed that his 2012-2013 doesn't appear to be a team option, but rather is just partially guaranteed at $1.5 mil if waived before July 8th

12.2 pts / 11.4 rbs / 2.8 bks per 36 minutes last year with a .551 TS% is a nice addition. He's still plenty good as a big man. Not some all-star caliber guy, but a guy who can guard any center in the league effectively and do the dirty work for you on the boards.
Ok use the real numbers. There is a reason why he only played 22 minutes a game. Average 7.5 ppg and 7rpg and 1.7 blocks. I did not say it was a bad trade. He just will not give you 35 minutes a game.

By the way, I'm obviously operating under the assumption that the Bucks are trying to win, and thus Gooden gets zero minutes because Skiles has killed him this summer.

I don't like this move. Trade down, get older, give up a promising young big man in Leuer. I used to like Dalembert but he's 31 and the Rockets were supposedly desperate to dump his salary. Just a perplexing move.

I know the answer to this already but does this give us any hope that Gooden gets the amnesty clause next week?

Was Dalembert free last year floating around until Houston picked him up during the season or preseason?

imo That is exactly what we need. A good center to play 20-25 a night and let Larry handle the rest. We don't need a guy in his 30's playing 35 minutes a night.

I could see Dunlevy getting the starting nod over Moute. But you also didn't put Gooden into that rotation list.

I bet Moute / Gooden would be the go to forwards off the bench, with either Sanders or Udoh clocking time at center.

We all want to forget Gooden, and hopefully he gets traded or is amnestied...but if we don't make another move, our ongoing log-jam at PF could be foreshadowing of us letting Ersan walk.

The salary is irrelevant. We barely added any and we can waive him for $1.5M if we wanted. Salary had nothing to do with this for Houston, it was about moving down.

My first reaction to this deal was to shout an expletive because I thought it was dumb to move back in the draft to pick up a mediocre center. But, if this deal saves us from drafting Zeller or Leonard, I'll be fine with it.
