If JT isn't even listening to his doctors, he probably won't listen to us.

I work outside so during last year's crazy summer I ended up drinking somewhere around 200 ounces a day easily. Water is your friend.

The doctor that I have now actually broke it down with me, and said that I am currently doing myself no harm

If you are near a grocery store at any point PICK THESE UP! Just incredibly delicious fruit and nut bars. I've never legitimately enjoyed these kind of things before I tried these and I can't recommend these enough.

Kind bars are excellent. I love the dark chocolate and almond flavor. Lower carbs and cals than other protein bars with similar protein levels. You can get almost any flavor on amazon as well for pretty cheap rates.

I also drink 100+ oz. of water a day, especially if I workout.

Slow Cooked Taco Chicken for dinner tonight. Pretty tasty, but if you're like me you'll want to add some Sriracha.

This guy has a bunch of high protein recipes, I've also done his Chicken Chili and it turned out amazing.

Check em out.

Any of you guys had experience with pneumonia?

Had my first symptoms last Friday, got it checked out on Saturday and was in the ER for five hours because the doctors didn't believe what the CT scan was showing them. I finally got it diagnosed and put on antibiotics. Symptoms got less and less and going up and down a flight of stairs eventually didn't cause my heart rate to jump.

So tonight I finally get back on my bike because I'd felt fine for two days. After three miles I had to call someone in a pickup to come get me because my right lung felt like it'd been hit by a sledge-hammer.

Christ, how long am I gonna be dealing with this ****?

That sucks man. Hopefully it won't take long to wipe it out. Maybe you already do this but if not, hammer down lots of leafy greens and veggies during the recovery, they will help you along the way. GL

I had strep throat (tested positive) at the same time as mono (again tested positive) that was accompanied with pneumonia a couple years back. Took me a good month to get better after the meds for the strep and pneumonia were prescribed.

I think it's probably appropriate here, but are y'all using Lumosity? It's obviously been around awhile (launched in 2007) but is gaining more and more steam. I don't personally use it, but will be giving it a shot on the mobile applications.

On Monday, Charlie Rose hosted a show about the BRAIN Initiative . I think.. a must watch if you're human.

Finally got down to 150, still no 6 pack, 4 pack after a solid ab workout, not walking around abs though. That lower two is really taking the time. Grand total of 70 pounds since March 1st. Stalled a little bit around 158 bought a power tower, started incorporating Pull-ups, dips, leg raises on to my routine and it did the trick weight started coming off steady again. Pretty much took over the entire finished and unfinished area of the basement with a home gym now. Might actually make the new goal of finishing cutting weight this summer, so I can get to the adding muscle phase.

I fell out of routine this summer with all the social commitments I've had of weddings, concerts, out of town trips etc. Put back on a few pounds that I lost earlier this year. My schedule has opened up a bit again so I'm back on the fitness train and have cut out the booze and fast food for the past couple weeks. Been playing basketball 2x a week, biking 2-3x a week and lifting 2x a week. Hard to break thru that first wave of soreness, but it feels good to be working out hard again.

Even if that isn't that accurate I still must be burning a **** ton. Fitness dudes: any suggestions on shakes or even foods in general to help make up for the calories I'm burning off? I don't want to eat really crappy food for the sake of consuming calories.

Nuts, red meat, fish, milk, avocado's. Really depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

Don't really have a goal. Biking around 40 miles a day is mostly born out of boredom. I moved to the country and there's **** to do. Races some day would be cool.

I don't know if you're into off-road cycling, but the W.O.R.S. (Wisconsin Off-Road Series) series was popular at one time and knew people that did that (all skill levels). They have a circuit at different State Parks throughout the spring/summer/fall.

I'm hit or miss on water. Some days I get my 64 ounces, others not so much. I just hate pissing all the time. But nothing beats a good glass of water sometimes.

My diet probably could use some improvement. I'm high 180s at 5'10 which isn't bad, especially being that I'm 30 now but my "bad" cholesterol was high in my last screening. My "good" was very high, so that was a positive. I just like beer and grilling, bad hobbies if I want to have a good diet. I've hit a wall exercising lately too, the hot weather too much and treadmill hasn't been appealing.

My social calender has absolutely killed the weight loss I accomplished earlier this year. Trying to get back at it now but it's the beginning of wedding season for me (I have 4 from this weekend til Mid September) so I have no idea how I'm going to find the time and energy to work out but I really need to. In March I was around 210 (I'm 6'2) and without really dieting I was able to get to around 200 by running a lot and playing basketball. Since the beginning of June I've put that weight back on. Non-stop travel or having friends stay with my gf and I for entire weekends has resulted in me working longer Mon - Thurs hours since I have had to take a lot of Fridays either off or work half a day. Working these longer hours has resulted in me getting lazier and not being able to get up earlier like I usually would to go for a run before I go to work.

I wanted to post this, as I found it to be pretty cool... as a guy who's slowly working his way down from being legitimately overweight to losing my beer gut... slow and steady. Calories in < calories out.

Apparently, I need to eat more Broccoli.
