Kings trade Boogie and presumably start a rebuild then sign George Hill, who plays the same position as their top 5 pick, and Z-Bo, who plays the same position as their last two high potential first round draft picks.

I'm thinking neither Hill nor Zbo finishes the season on Sactos roster. They probably signed both as deadline trade chips thinking that they can pry future assets off contenders looking for upgrades and/or depth. Can't bench a 20mil PG for a rookie and can't stunt a top 5 picks growth on a team destined for another high lotto pick. Makes zero sense.

I had the same thought initially but I think it's a solid move for veteran leadership. Kings will not suck this year.

The Kings should be sucking this year though. None of the young guys they've got look like they'll be big stars - they need a top 3 pick next year. Then try to be good the year after when they haven't got their pick.

Vet leadership on teams like that should be guys that aren't going to start or be able to help them win.

I guess Vivek probably wants to win as soon as possible though. So they'll end up in the same mid-lottery treadmill as always.
