Okay that's the end of any reasonable debate about trading DDV. Now I know how crash test dummies feel.

Which one was easier A or B?

This is a stupid question. One of the values DDV has is that he's young. So theoretically you could trade him for someone slightly better but older. And who might have one last flash of excellence before going in the tank.

And Donte becomes the backup PG? Because Frank blows.

DJ Wilson and 2nd for Ben McLemore. Get under the tax and hopefully Ben McLemore can shoot like he did last season.

Thoughts?

My thought: if we’re trading DJA and DDV, we absolutely NEED ball-handlers coming back.

Wilson+ Craig+ '23 second for Garrett Temple

Creates some latitude to sign, I believe, 2 buyout guys like Tucker (who it seems like we're adamant about getting) and Ariza

Would love to add Kristaps, but don't see a way to do it without sending one of Khris or Jrue out.

I'm not really interested in trading Middleton, but is there a deal that makes sense, where we move Khris and Brook out, bring in Kristap and bolster our depth and/or replenish some of draft capital?

Bucks in - Taj Gibson, Austin Rivers, Frank Ntilikina
Knicks In - DJA, DJW, Craig

Sign Ariza if bought out.

Holiday - Ntilikina - Merrill
DDV - Rivers - Forbes - (2)Powell
Middleton - Ariza - Pat - Nwora
Giannis - Gibson - Thanasis
Lopez - Portis - (2)Diakite
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

I wonder if the the Spurs would be interested in Lopez once LMA gets traded/bought out. I'd take any of their SG/PG over Augustine. Rudy Gay for some scoring off the bench? Trey Lyles?

I have a question. Can the Bucks do a garbage for garbage trade just to get a little more under the hard cap, so they can at least be able to sign someone off the waivers?

Jrue probably doesn't hit his incentives right? he missed quite a few and assuming bud rests some guys periodically he probably misses the incentives?

I think you explore a Porzingis trade in the offseason, not now. Don't see any deal where you swap Middleton for him that makes us a better team this season, outside of him magically turning into an Embiid/KAT/AD level big simply because of a change of scenery.

Definitely. That's by far the most likely scenario too IMO. Keep in mind that the difference in salary will be prorated, as will the vet min salary they use on a buyout candidate, so it's not as simple as looking at the total difference in salary of the traded players.

Spotrac lists a lot of "TBD" incentives so I'm not sure we can assume this.
https://www.spotrac.com/nba/milwaukee-bucks/jrue-holiday-6316/

We know he will get $510k for 66 games and another $255k for 67+ games, and that includes the postseason, which technically could be as much as 30 games with the play-in and 28 games once that possibility is eliminated. So either 9 or 11 more regular season games, which is a pretty safe bet, will keep the door open on those incentives.

I don't know if his TBD incentives are the same as last year, but here's an interesting read on it:
https://lonzowire.usatoday.com/2020/05/28/jrue-holiday-news-new-orleans-pelicans-nba-restart-playoffs-orlando-disney-world-florida/

If you're asking in hopes that some incentives will be mathematically eliminated and the hard cap will be lifted, I would tend to think that's very unlikely, but I don't know for sure. I would be mildly surprised if it's even allowed after an incentive has been ruled out, but in any case the nature of his incentives - or at least what we can presumably glean about them based on last year - means it could very well be a moot point.

I had that question previously and looked for answers in the CBA but found none. I then asked someone who knows a lot more about the CBA and he told me they don't fall off until the season end even if they can't be reached anymore e.g. all-star.

This could be that "junk for junk" we're looking for. Brown on the ball would be an interesting look in lineups with Jrue to give him some freedom. And at his age he could still really blossom.
