We didn't lose a player, instead we found the players this team was always meant to work with.

Personally watching Tucker unable to keep KD to even 45 instead of 50 and then having to talk about his shoe size is most definitely not something I'm going to miss.

Just because we stumbled ass-backwards into the lineup that won us a title doesn't mean that lineup didn't win us a title.

Also, bad individual defense by Tucker was not the reason for Durant going nuts in that series.

I didn't think it was bad either. But for someone who does nothing else on the floor and wants $7m a year, it's supposed to be spectacular.

Not sure what to do with the fact that the lineup won us a title. Keep the lineup the same forever?

I wonder what is up with Brandon Clarke and the Grizzlies. Guy was pretty good his rookie year and now it seems he’s not really part of their rotation.

It's just a good, deep team. I'd be happy with any of their first dozen dudes.

Man I would be ecstatic if we could get a Vancouver native on my favourite NBA team. Especially if we could steal him from the city that stole Vancouver's team.

Our best lineup was the 4 starters and Pat. It disappoints me that Pat's contributions continue to get overlooked.

Even if you over look KD going off, you can't ignore how Tucker got eaten up by the Suns. Jrue had to constantly switch off between Paul and Booker as Tucker alternated letting them heat up.

I can kind of live with that because Tucker is really a forward, he was never supposed to guard 1's and 2's all game. Not at his age anyway.

But in the hardest and probably most important game of the year he should do something better, because his defence alone is supposed to justify him starting for a championship team despite all the other things he's not good at.

I think PJ Tucker could be a solid contributor playing 30 mpg in a playoff run.

I question whether he could be a solid rotation player at age 36 for a full NBA regular season and playoff run. The Bucks couldn't afford to have DiVincenzo sit a good portion of the season and also have a limited games/minutes PJ Tucker on the roster. Especially recognizing that Giannis, Middleton, Holiday and Lopez would need some time off after a deep playoff run and a short off season.

Bucks management saw Tucker's abilities and limitations up close last year. I trust their decisions, even though it may not all work out in the end.

Make that 37 this year.

Anyway I was watching PJ on Redick's podcast where he said that we couldn't really find anyone to drink with on the Bucks parade because nobody is really the type, and everyone is just nice all around etc. And I realised it is true, this Bucks team displays such a remarkable lack of a-holes LOL
Antetokounmpo brothers, Khris, Brook, Jrue, they all seem like hearts of gold. Being new on that team must feel like going on a basketball adventure with your highschool buddies more than it feels like being around NBA stars. One more reason I was so happy for them last year.

The guy drives me nuts, but when hes on your team hes the guy you love. Maybe calling out his teammates can make him expendable? 3 way trade for Marcus Smart would be awesome

Smart can't be traded for a year, recently extended.

Would also have to include Brook just for salary matching.

We're probably looking into DDV/Hood/Semi trades, so most likely shuffling chairs and the buyout market. Can't see us making a big play on the trade market this year as of right now.

I'm not clear on whether or not Marcus Smart is really a guy we'd want to commit to.

Either way, if I understand correctly he's tradeable by Jan. 20, right?

The Celtics very well might have extended Smart with an eye towards using him as a trade piece rather than losing him for nothing too, and if he knows that, maybe that is related to where he doesn't care so much about trashing the young stars in the press:

Speaking of trades, Smart’s new deal does make him tradable down the road. No, Boston isn’t going to turn around and trade him tomorrow (they are not allowed to until mid-January), however, a signed-Smart is a more valuable trade asset than an expiring-Smart. From Boston’s point of view, sending out the long-time Celtic point guard on an expiring deal would bring back minimal value compared to a long-term contract.

A big hell no to Marcus Smart. The contract, the attitude, the low efficiency 3PT chucking. All gross. If you want a perimeter defensive pest with a D-bag mentality, go out and get Pat-Bev who's expiring. Or you know, they could have just re-signed PJ without having to give up anything...

He can be traded anytime after January 25th. Having said that, I personally would have no interest in him and would be sad if we did acquire him.

Doesn't Smart also have a trade kicker? That contract is ugly.

Trade kickers can be waived. It's basicly a 'do you want to play for this team?'-option. I doubt Smart wouldn't want to play for the champs over the Saltics.

PJ was essential last season because he gave us that belief and mental toughness that we can compete with anyone. He basically showed no fear going up against all stars (whether he was successful or not at doing so), which gave the rest of the team confidence that we belong. Now that Giannis, Jrue and Khris have a championship under their belt, they can carry that mantle moving forward.

Or sign Frank Ntilikina for the minimum.

Smart just isn't an impact player.

Trading for Smart would drastically reduce the chance that he flops Giannis onto the DL.
