A trade w/ OKC makes so much sense, they have multiple guys on smaller deals who can contribute here now. As well as late first and early second round picks.

For us sure, for them not really. The only attractive pieces we have are a 2028 swap and a 2029 FRP.

The Warriors have some interesting free agents especially seeing Wiseman will be back. Looney, Porter Jr., and Bjelica can’t all be given quality playing time. Lee and Toscano-Anderson aren’t terrible either. Can’t see them letting Payton walk away either thou he is too.

Obviously we don’t know how much truth there is to it, but good news with Wes, Jevon, and IMO keeping Brook.

What do we think OKC is looking to do this offseason?
Is the idea that they are looking to kick the can down the road some more swapping young guys for more picks before they’d need to be extended?
Wonder who we could get for #24 and George Hill (who did well in OKC previously). Whether or not they’d value Allen positively or at neutral at least is another question.

Trade Middleton,Hill to Sacramento for Harrison Barnes, Justin Holiday and #4 pick.
Draft Jaden Ivey or Johnny Davis @ 4, Kendall Brown @ 24
Bamba @ TPMLE
Re-sign Bobby, Pat and Jevon.
Rubio, Thad Young for the ring chasers vet min.
First major steps in flipping the core around Giannis to skew younger while keeping the window open.
Brook/Bamba
Giannis/Bobby/Brown
Barnes/Young
Allen/Connaughton/Ivey or Davis/Ju. Holiday
Jrue/Rubio/Jevon
The kids basically get to redshirt. Leaves the Bucks pretty versatile for a postseason run. I’d let Brook take it easy during the reg season and give Bamba the work load at the true 5 position. If you want to go small you have a lot of options with Giannis, Bobby, Barnes, and Young and perhaps even Connaughton getting some small ball 4 minutes here and there. Besides Bobby, they can all do a decent to good job of switching and all can shoot an open jumper. Rubio can stagger with Jrue’s minutes so you don’t run into too many spacing issues.
That’s a decent amount of turnover for a title contender and while they’re likely less stacked to win a title this coming season, Giannis will be smack dab in his prime as your young piece(s) are putting it together in Bamba, Brown and whomever you pick at 4.

Glad to see that big wing size will be a priority — it’s been our biggest issue over the years.
We’ve never truly been able to have an effective smallball lineup because we can’t locate an athletic 3/4.

What do we think of P.J. Washington?
Is he mostly a 4 or could he fill that ‘big wing with size’ hole we’ve had since letting Tucker walk?

Since we are over the cap I'm assuming there's no way for us to get a sign and trade free TPE when Serge signs with someone else, correct?

Give me the KCP for Allen/Hill/2nd deal, with a Gary Harris signing, and draft Walker Kessler. Bring back Bobby, Pat, Wes, & Carter
Jrue/Carter/Vildoza
Pat/Harris/Wes
Khris/KCP
Giannis/Bobby/Thanasis
Brook/Kessler
Sign 1 or 2 vet mins for the depth & lets roll

I’m not sure I fully understand your question, but we could get a TPE by signing and trading serge - we could offer him up to about 17m per with early bird. This wouldn’t trigger the hard cap because we aren’t ending up with the signed-and-traded player. We would then have a 17m TPE if the other team absorbed him into cap space.
I’m sure we don’t have goodwill with serge though, so he’ll just sign elsewhere for much less anyway.
If you’re asking if we could get a TPE without a sign and trade, yes, but that would have to be with a player under contract with us for this next season.

A big wing would certainly be handy and has been an issue but our BIGGEST ISSUE FOR YEARS IS THAT WE HAVE NOOOOOO GUARDS. We currently have one starting caliber guard, Jrue. That’s it, that’s the list, and it’s been that way forever. Last time we had two was Bledsoe and Brogdon, can’t even remember when we had 3. Probably Mayo, Bayless, and MCW lol

Iirc, he plays more like a small big than a big wing, though he is decently quick. I think he’s more of a 4 but idk.
Actually there is a full Bucks-Hornets game from 20-21 on youtube, if you want to watch him a bit.

Now I'm normally like that guy is 30 years old? Where did time go? But Otto Porter Jr. has been 29 for 8 years now.

I've been throwing around trades like Melton and Morris for Hill/filler/24 but I finally just actually tried one in a checker and it doesn't work. Can we do the whole draft someone at #24 for another team, sign the guy and then use that salary thing?

Almost all of these scenarios are bad imo. Problem is, I don't have any better alternatives.
I would love to get Melton though. That would make me very happy.
