I think he shows up well here, particularly since it's really a guard's league and he's a defense first guy.

Should also be pointed out Giannis was doing that in the league over the course of a season when he was Marjons age

More encouraging than the results is that Marjon looks so much stronger and more confident.

Also liking that the defensive scheme looks more proactive (attacking offensive players and sending extra bodies at the offense when the offensive players are in compromised/difficult situations) rather than reactive (sit back and send help only once beaten and only to protect the lane). They look much more aggressive and not as worried about avoiding contact to avoid fouls at all costs.

AJJ is a ball of organized chaos. Love his motor. Don’t love that push shot from the free throw line.

Gortman pops. Give him minutes to see what we have. I think he might be a gem.

AJJ seems like a guy that won’t let the other team get comfortable. If he can figure out anything on the offensive end, he’s a playoff rotational piece due to all the other things he does so well.

Defensive scheme and all the attacking and poking at the ball is fun to watch.

Also so strange that we have Mannion running the show when... his rights still belong to GS. What is the worst that could happen if you just give Dre/Gortman those minutes? (besides 20 fouls)

Not allowing myself to get too high on MarJon. Summer League is a fickle bitch. He at least looks stronger, more comfortable, and more aggressive. Dre has been as advertised, Gortman has very real NBA quickness & pull-up ability. It's been fun!

I think the new coach is also testing out some system related things during these games as well. Tacko is out there to approximate Brook’s size and “mobility”.

God, I hope not. That is ridiculous.

Buzzkill? I'd be super stoked if Marjon became a good as Tobias Harris offensively. Then Marjon would be better than Tobias Harris. That's a serious player.

As always there are exceptions to rules, but by and large...

Playing well in summer league doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be a good player.

Playing bad in summer league means you will not be a good player.

Summer league for me is just making sure that someone doesn't look bad. Because that's no bueno. MJB has been playing well. That's good for now.

Curious to see if we see any flashes from Omari he needs more minutes somehow.

Feels like a longer DDV without the long range (which DDV didn't have that much in his first games anyway). I am talking game mentality, not specific moves.

So what. Some of you are so obsessed with his age. He missed 2+ years of development time. He’s 22 not 26

Worse shooting, but bigger and probably more athletic. I was convinced DDV should not be the guy initiating an offense after a few months. Hopefully AJJ shows flashes there
