I think the argument that breaking up the Pistons now was the right move to make is valid. I simply question whether they couldn't have accomplished that without trading Billups. I like Stuckey but Billups brings so much to a team. We've seen that in Denver. I think Dumars is a very good GM but I think he should've traded Rip and not Billups.

I think they might want to pick a game where Mo plays well to talk about the positive impact he's having in a particular game. He's been pretty bad today.

He's not playing well. But the Pistons aren't very good and LeBron is kinda good so it doesn't matter.

Delonte's playing a lot more than Mo, which is typical. I've always felt the Mo Williams all-star trip from Cleveland was a bit disingenuous when their other guard actually has played more all season long (except when he hurt his ankle). They're a good combo, Delonte and Mo.

I didn't realize West's Roland Rating was higher than Mo's until I checked on it the other day.

Mo and West are a great compliment to one another. Since Mo isn't your prototype PG and neither is West, they can kind of share the load. Mo is a lot more dynamic offensive player while West is a much better defender.

Good back court IMO, though it could use some more size.

Rip for AI, you mean? That probably would have worked out better - but you've cut into stuckey's PT this season. I'm not a big fan of how Rip has handled this season. I don't see them having much of an edge over anybody with Stuckey and Rip moving forward. But looking at next season, it's time for them to really expect something out of Amir Johnson and Maxiell w/ sheed, just to really have the ability to control the frontcourt. I suppose Dumars wasn't that concerned about the backcourt long term.

It wouldn't have to have been AI. If Dumars wanted an expiring, I think there's a team that would've given him one for Rip. I just think if there's one guy on that team I wouldn't have traded right now, it's Billups. I'd trade Rip, Sheed and Prince before I'd trade Billups.

But I am partial to good PGs so I may have some bias in that regard coming into play here. :)

It seemed to me that the addition of Delonte and to a lesser extent Wally into their backcourt rotation was huge for them last season -- it finally gelled in the playoffs. two years ago they were playing eric snow, hughes and damon jones until boobie gibson came along and took their minutes in the playoffs.

then to add mo - great upgrade in three of the four backcourt roles in two years, not just at point w/ mo.

And they can both shoot threes which is huge.

This one's been over for awhile.

Mixed bag so far for notable former Bucks:

Ray was awful. Mo has been bad but Joe Smith has played well.

Let's see how Dirk does tonight.

:D

Eddie House missed a bunch too - that's a bit eye-opening for chicago, that they needed OT with Ray and House shooting 3-20. That won't last.

don't forget your favorite player, Tim Thomas - he hit a three today. :)

That felt more like a scrimmage than a playoff game...

San Antonio vs Dallas is a game I''m looking forward to watching...

Agreed...

I think Tony Parker is going to blow up. He is one of the most overlooked players in the league... I think on any given night he can outplay any PG in the NBA by a significant margin.

Just shows how great LeBron is. He singlehandedly beat the Pistons today. Detroit isn't very good but that's still pretty damn impressive.

Pretty much.. He was very efficient on both ends this afternoon.. Only guys that defended today were Bron and Brotha Redbush.. Outside of that nobody really put forth a premium defensive effort..Though it wasn't needed so much..

I will say this though, Nebula was correct and I was wrong.. I used to make fun of his for his love of all things Joe Smith.... I too now love Joe Smith...

The guy's a good player. I've always liked him too. Nothing flashy, just rock solid and smart on both ends of the court. If someone could clone him and turn him into a 20-year-old PF he'd be the perfect complement for Bogut. That's what the Bucks need in my opinion - a smart PF who can defend, rebound and hit the mid-range jumper.

That's true.. Funny thing is though, he doesn't play like there's a real drop off in his game... He's never really been a guy that can jsut take over a game, or can really get hot in the post and take over... He's still very serviceable on both ends of the floor... Cuts to the basket, can knock down the midrange shot, can finish with either hand around the rim, can rebound, defend, get a block here and there etc... Just a real solid pro...

Funny thing is people really over look that '95 draft (primarily because '96 was so good)... Guys like Smith, McDyess, Stack (before this season) Sheed, KG, Finley, Barry have all had long careers and really have produced in some big spots in the latter years of their careers...

Joe Smith is a guy you can win with. Every team needs guys like that.
