Should be the target if we are going down the otto porter parker route. If we go whiteside or DAJ bleds 3% will hurt spacing too much.

Not sure what I just read, but Jabari getting 34 minutes probably isn't the best plan.

You understand that's next year... right?

If possible, bring back Moose please. I no longer want to make a trade for DAJ or Whiteside. Just draft a decent big if we get our draft pick this year or find someone on the cheap. Whiteside was basically out of the league when Miami picked him up.

I love Jabari but also like Whiteside a ton. Wonder if Miami would do something like:

Jabari Parker
Matthew Dellevedova
Tony Snell

for

Hassan Whiteside
Justice Winslow
Rodney Mcgruder

We get out of Snells and Dellys contract and remove the injury risk of Jabari. We also get back Winslow who is still young and talented. A defense with a front line of Whiteside and Giannis sounds awesome.

I just really hope that if we end up striking out on any big splash moves that we atleast have some solid fall back moves on deck to add some depth. There's solid players available that could really help the team out and I'll be somewhat disappointed if our only goal is DJ/Whiteside or bust this deadline. I'm not holding my breathe though. Dedmon and Bellinelli would really add some flavor to this roster if we can keep our rotation somewhat intact and add them or pieces like them.

Honestly, just move Vaughn or Terry for a roster spot and trade for Vonleh via TPE, sign Plumlee or Withey unless Dedmon comes dirt cheap.

I laugh when Marshall Plumlee is on the court but if he ends up being a dirt cheap Baynes or whatever, that is enough of what we need from the 5. Set an unlimited amount of picks, roll to the rim, work hard on defense, crash the boards, hit your free throws and give eerily long high fives where you grab your teammates hand longingly.

Something along the lines of Vaughan and a top 55 protected 2nd rounder? Pistons need wing depth and shooters to help space the floor for Blake and Drummond. Otherwise we could absord Reed into a trade exception.

I just want one big who can set a good pick on this team.

I was watching a play last week where I think Plumlee set OR tried to set about 8 picks on a single possession. He was waving at guys, he was sprinting around, setting picks left, picks right and picks middle. His picks per 36 is about 2381 right now, it's ELITE

I can't imagine Mo Speights would take much of anything to acquire. Vaughn straight up. Hammond does his protege Horst a solid.

Not a trade idea, but does anyone know the rules on signing a player after you've traded him? I couldn't find it, but I'm guessing there is some provision that would deny Monroe signing with us again since he was bought out.

Edit: saw it in another thread so disregard.

I'm pretty sure they'll hold out on smaller fish until they are sure they can't net DJ or Whiteside.

Who is the best available center in terms of rim protection (when we play Jabari) and a little scoring (when teams throw insane defenders at Giannis)? Is there someone out there that could be acquired, that would put my eyeballs out of the misery that is John Henson?

Also, at this point am I just being greedy, after whining about needing a guard (and getting Bledsoe) and whining about Kidd (and them firing him)? At what point are we as fans playing with house money for the season?

Take it for what it's worth, but Woelful said the Buck's are interested in trading for Malik Monk.

I guess one good game against the Bucks convinced us he's worth going after?

Monk is awful. No thank you.

Whiteside is everything we need, basketball wise. Now you can argue cost effectiveness and chemistry but people trying to say he's not a fit are kidding themselves. Elite rebounder and interior defender.

He's 19 (Monk). I'm ecstatic to know that we're not just focused on short term upgrades and still looking at the big picture.

Thats old news, Gery first reported it mid January. Still I'd be intrigued in a deal centered around Bledsoe for Monk+Zeller, especially if we can dump Henson in the deal and maybe even Snell for some MKG etc. I like the fit for Monk here a lot, JET would be a perfect mentor.
