I'm definitely picking up The Outer Worlds. I didn't realize it was basically a new take on Fallout without being able to use the name. Fallout New Vegas was my favorite of the newer Fallout games and this is the same company so that's a huge bonus.

Sony is shutting down its live TV streaming service PlayStation Vue on January 30th, 2020, the company announced today. The sudden announcement of the shutdown comes just a week after a report published by The Information saying Sony was looking for a buyer for the service, which has continually lost money for the company since its launch in March of 2015. Sony has repeatedly raised the price of Vue to try and offset its rising costs, most recently by $5 across all plans back in July.

Wow. Wonder what that means for some of the competition.

That's too bad - it had some promise, but some definite flaws as well. I'm wondering if the fact that it was marketed under the PlayStation brand hurt it compared to the competition. Hopefully this doesn't cause the competition to raise rates a bit as a competitor goes down the drain. I'm a bit surprised nobody wanted to buy it.

I've given up on EA football games.

Agreed... but I'd still buy one year of it. I think that franchise had much more long-term playability than Madden.

I'd definitely buy NCAA Football if they brought it back.

Eager for some Outer Worlds impressions and I'm sure I'll pick it up in the next month or so. But I actually reached pretty far back in gaming library the other day, and am currently in the midst of a Mass Effect 1-3 replay. Honestly might be the best trilogy of games ever. Just such a shame that Andromeda had to be the nail in the coffin for such a great series.

NCAA college hoops 2k is where it’s at for the college sports games. The football titles were literal garbage by comparison to 2K’s basketball games.
No faith in a college football game being even remotely decent based on how EA has neutered franchise mode over the last 15 years in madden (and let’s be real, the career/legacy mode is pretty much the sole reason to play a college sports game)

NBA Live cancelled again. It would be nice if they could get their act together and give 2K some competition. NBA Live 02 was my jam.

Outer Worlds is wonderful. I played for probably 5 hours yesterday evening and loved every second. I am building my M.O. character for these games - sneaky, smart, and likes long-range combat/sniping.

I've only played an hour but so far I'm really liking it too. I've dumped almost all my (limited) points into the Dialog, Stealth, and Tech trees. As much as I'd like to murder all of these obnoxiously corporate and capitalist idiots, it seems like fun to be able to get them to do what you want and also steal their ****.

I don't usually invest much in speech skills, but I'm reconsidering that approach. This game seems even denser in dialogue than a standard Fallout game, and I'm seeing that there ample opportunities to flex your persuasion, lying, or intimidation muscles. I've missed some chances so far where I'd have loved to lie.

No spoilers, but avoid if you don't want to see literally anything about the game whatsoever...
My conversation with Phyllis Granger in the cannery was wild. I was literally lol at multiple lines. The writing in the game so far is A+.

Three things I don't love are the lack of a mini-map, not having a dedicated map button, and not being able to set waypoints in the map. Come on, Obsidian. That's Quality of Life 101, baby.

There is on PC. Sucks you can't set one on console.

I played Outer Worlds since it is on Game Pass waiting for the game to start at 12.30 am.
Loved it so far, and unfortunately it was the highlight of the night and not the game...

Talked to a friend who said that holding the inventory button will bring up the map.

Re: OT: Video Game Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos Thread
Death Stranding reviews go live tomorrow morning. Gotta say that nothing in the footage I've seen has me any kind of interested, but maybe I'll be surprised.
