Spoiler:
Ha, never thought of it like that. But yea, I mean as much as a drug cartel leader can be Gus is kind of a 'hero' in the sense that he's basically gotten a perfect operation running as an organized business that would've hummed along well. Then yea Walt messes it all up. I suppose partially Gus's fault for getting in bed with him, but still.

8

7 for season 1, so one more. renewed for season 2.

Spoiler:
so the ‘old man” is actually Morgan Bote. Interesting. Should be a good season finale
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

the downside to BCS is we already know what happens to many of the characters. Given Gus dies in BB and Lalo isn't in BB we knew Lalo was going to die. Given that I'm fine with how it went down.

Yup. Let's say you somehow meet someone who's never watched BB. Would you recommend to watch BCS first? I guess we don't know for sure how these next episodes go, but I think I would

I probably would watch BCS first

I want to revisit BB after BCS is done. I wonder if knowing the backstory of certain people (thinking mostly about Mike) would make it a different experience.

Spoiler:
I would personally recommend watching breaking bad first.

1. Everyone looks considerably in better call saul and would be weird going to younger versions in BB.

2. The black and white gene scenes are only relevant because of breaking bad.
Why should you go to jail for a crime someone else noticed? You don't need double talk... You need Bob Loblaw.

"Revisit BB" is a pretty good indicator that he's watched BB already.

Nathan Fielder is back at it. The Rehearsal feels like something that could have only come from him or Charlie Kaufman.

MickeyDavis wrote:Too many streaming services. Everyone wants to have their own. The question will be weather they make more money with their own service or by selling their content to another service. Depends on the subscriber numbers. Some of it is jumbled up. Paramount and AMC have their regular cable channels and their streaming service. Most of what they have on their streamers is the same as they have on their regular networks with a few exclusives (1883 on Paramount +, Dirty Black Bag on AMC+). And it can get muddled up. Paramount showed the first couple of 1883 on their regular network, then made the rest exclusive on Paramount +).

I think they see it as ‘why should we let others get most the money for our shows’ when if they have their own, they keep so much more of that margin. But it is ridiculous now, someone will come along with an app that cuts aggregates all your streaming under one and we will literally be right back to cable

Finished it. Good stuff. No official word on season 2 but there are more books so it's likely

I liked it so much I finished it in two days (which is rare for me). Was even a little surprised by the ending. Overall I liked it on the level of the Reacher series. Good stuff, would watch more for sure.
Finished ep2, totally digging it so far. I would definitely recommend it.

I'm super interested to see what he does in the other episodes. This 1st one had a similar vide to the Finding Frances episode of Nathan for You. I'm just really happy he has some money behind him to commit to the things he does. He does really tip toe exploiting people, but I think he reconciles that with capturing some genuinely unique and vulnerable human moments. I'm sure many people can relate to Kor Skeet, but I would guess he regrets doing the show and that last scene was hard to watch.

BCS
Spoiler:
I liked last weeks episode because Lalo had me freaked out. I'm a lot calmer with him buried 6 FT under the lab. I thought he might do something grizzly to Kim, which might have ruined the whole BB universe for me.

Tonight setup Kim's exit real well if it wasn't already explained. If that's the case it would be anticlimactic which would be OK with me. I think clearly the number one cliff hanger with the transition from BCS to BB is what happens to Kim and just how freaky is it gonna be. A super soft exit stage left would be great, but just not the style for the BB universe. So, I'm pretty sure there will be more drama for Kim the next four weeks.

I want to see how BCS transitions into BB and we got a big leap tonight. That was 100% BB Saul Goodman the last six minutes of the episode. I'm really exited to see Jessie and Walt. That's gonna be huge. Also, it hit me tonight Tuco should be showing up pretty quick. That'll be cool to see how that plays out.

They're gonna finish out the Omaha story with Gene. I think that's how BCS will end. As of tonight's episode there very well could be a Jimmy and Kim reunion. There's a lot more crap to come so they'll probably end up like Hank and Gomez in the desert. But, for tonight anyway, I like the idea of a happy ending for those two.

I agree. I just liked that it happened. I thought he might be around a long time, maybe even in the future if that materializes. It's comforting to know this sadistic evil genius wont be around to terrorize Saul, Kim or even Jessie.

Yeah, they have to make that right. They've been too good to let something this basic leave a plot hole. Somehow Saul has to think Lalo could still be alive.

And that Lalo after being so anal and a smart villain in all other aspects he makes a classic bonehead move at the end of letting him walk around freely. For example, zip tying Jimmy to a chair and other things throughout all this to make sure to get away with things and not be seen/caught. But he then makes the classic stupid bad guy move of leaving the opposition loose to get the last second kill. Simply zip tie his hands and he wins. I mean, its a tv show so you accept it but yea they pulled out a few classic tropes in this one.

Last one- 8-)

Spoiler:
100% agree. Lalo was simply a terrifying evil genius. Right there with Walt and Gustavo, but much more sadistic. Then, he goes out out like a B movie bad guy.

A very rare poor performance by the writers.

The Forgiven (2022)

I really liked it. Fiennes, Chastain, Smith, and Landry Jones all play absolutely awful rich white a*sholes. I liked Abbey Lee's brief bits of comedy. Saïd Taghmaoui is good in everything he's been in and that continues here. Ismael Kanater gives a very difficult and moving performance.

It reminds me some of In Bruges, and this movie is from Martin McDonagh's brother.
