Agree across the board, and remember enjoying Gladiator when it came out but being annoyed at how it steamrolled to Best Picture and You Can Count on Me wasn't even nominated but Chocolat, a movie I hate to a frankly irrational degree, was.

Anxious to see opinions around here on Longlegs. Feel like it's been a decade since a theater released horror movie lived up to the hype for me.

S3 didn't start with "previously on Vikings" so I had to rewatch the last ep of season 2 to remember where it left off before starting season 3. Glad it's back.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

You really should watch it, and definitely give it a few episodes. It is different from GoT, but still excellent.

That's definitely my favorite. Others that came to mind were the Evil Dead remake, You're Next, and Ready or Not. Liked all of those.

Re: OT: TV and Movies
I was hoping/expecting a decent amount of Olympics in 4K but it is not to be. NBC is upconverting 1080p to "4k" and then only showing that on USA Network. And only with certain providers. This sucks. I want sports in 4k
NBCUniversal has announced that USA Network’s 24/7 coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics will be available in 4K HDR with Dolby Atmos audio. NBC Olympics will be producing events in 1080p HDR and then up-converting to 4K for distribution to Altice, Comcast, Cox, DirecTV/DirecTV Stream, Dish, Fubo, Verizon, YouTube TV, and select participating NCTC members.
According to multiple reports, NBCU has confirmed that its Peacock streaming service – which will live stream every event from the Olympics – will not feature any programming in 4K.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I almost don’t think of Your Next and Ready or Not horror, they are Vengence type movies..like the Hunt, etc…great movies though. No one is really scared, they are cheering on the heroine.

Agreed. Sports in 4K is glorious. Watched a couple Fox NFL games in 4K last season on Fubo.

I thought I would hate Longlegs, but I didn't. Solid B, but with two big issues.

Co-signing this as someone who enjoys spending more time rewatching old seasons of lengthy shows instead of shorter seasons of new shows.

There is something so satisfying about getting through a show that ran for 5+ years with over 100 episodes.

If 20% of a season is mediocre its way more noticeable with eight episodes than 24

They were horror-comedies but Bodies Bodies Bodies and The Blackening were two of my favorite movie theater experiences in recent memory; particularly The Blackening.

I love when shows establish a world and do essentially a tangent episode. The Nikki and Paolo episode of LOST is the prime example of this: totally inessential but not stand alone in the sense that it completely relies on the world of LOST. Yet it's also one of my favorite episodes.
Separately, I feel like when people say an episode of LOST featuring backstory of one of the *main characters* is skippable, that's a different thing and fundamentally misconstrues the show. The deep and consistent focus on character is what separated LOST from all its copycats.

“Lost” had me believing that it was perfectly crafted and almost every detail and plot line was consequential.. till the start of the fourth season. Then it started to become apparent that it was just a group of talented actors and writers and show runners making it up as they went.
