Giannis losing to a bunch of 30 and 40 year olds clearly shows he lacks the drive to lead a team to the promise land in the NBA. I hope the Bucks trade him immediately and build around our true face of the franchise Matthew Dellavedova.

I don't know if people know, but if you are you're born in Greece to immigrant parents, you get a temporary residency until you are 18 years old, but no citizenship. And then at 18 the temp residency is also taken away, and you are technically illegal in the country. Both Giannis and Thanasis were stuck in this limbo (especially Thanasis for nearly 3 years) until they were given citizenship by exception so they can play for the NT. They've both seen the absolute worst of this country, and yet they hold no grudges, they only talk about the positives and always want to come back and contribute in any way they can. Some times I don't know what to say really.

He also saw the good side Pachinko too, he said his teachers neve saw him as a black immigrant boy and they were always helping him.

People always confusing this, Giannis and his brothers wasn't immigrants in Greece, they born and raise there. Their parents was immigrants. it's a big different and i don't care about the papers they didnt have.

I didn't know that, but I guess if you had asked me, I suppose I would have guessed something along those lines was probable in Greece.

Re Giannis' attitude: Wouldn't you be surprised if Giannis spent any energy on being negative, critical or deflating? I would. He doesn't seem to have a bitter bone in his body.
What I mean is that this attitude of his seems natural for, and essential to, his overall character. When you think of his work-ethic, drive and overall demeanor, it's hard to imagine him getting too hung up on anything negative- even when negativity or criticism is deserved. That overall attitude, also, is fairly typical of the character of a hard-working child of hard-working immigrant parents- humble, hard-working, grounded, etc.
AND if said hard-working immigrant's son is young, rich, celebrated and successful too? Well.. Being in that kind of situation, most people aren't inclined to have much time for deflating thoughts.

He's a special kid. We're what, 4 years into Giannis here? And he's never once disappointed. That's really something.

I know, I'm just admiring it. Remember, at the time he wasn't rich or famous or anything like that, he was just taking **** from the Govt on top of all the other **** in his life.

I've been super pissed off for years about much smaller things in my life.

Beast.

Also, whoever voted for Thomas and Lillard, and really Westbrook too should have their voting rights taken away.

With all this recognition and his huge jump in all his stats, I'd be incredibly shocked if he doesn't win MIP. Awesome year for him, but I think he's already working towards being better next year and not letting the success of this season get to him.

Is the NBA spoiling their own awards show? There goes half of my reason for watching it.

They do at the end, there was a huge battle between 76ers and Bucks fans about ROY, crazy talks and analysis but now it all died out, people dont care about awards, not to mention most of it was spoiled.
