Yeah, we appear to be on the same page as far as RPGs are concerned.

Putting the finishing touches on my mainbase in Valheim then probably some multi-player Switch games w/ the wife & kids.

I was looking at Valheim but I have never really played any games in that genre. I enjoyed Subnautica but i think that is a pretty different type of game. Anything you could compare it with?

I was late to the party but most of 2021 was devoted to Rocket League. It's such an addicting game.

I think I'm finally getting burned out though because teaming with randos feels more like a chore every day and I'm not nearly as eager to play.

Back on the Teamfight Tactics grind. This season is probably their best ever. Really good balance and the extra mechanic, augments, makes each game feel different. Good game if you've tried auto-battlers in the past and like them!

Haven't played for 6 months and I started playing again yesterday. Head is spinning a bit but I'm having fun learning the classes, characters, and best team comps.

Time absolutely flies when I'm playing this game.

I had the most success yesterday with Yordle teams + I think it was Bodyguard and Arcanist.

Yordles is just a fun build overall. Be glad you started yesterday - prior to the patch last week, it was Kai'Sa everywhere and there was some stale taste to the meta. It's in a pretty good spot right now!

Good stuff. I've never had the skill to look at other players boards and come up with a strategy to counter it. I have enough on my hands just focusing on my team and making it make sense. I just kind of go with the flow.

EDIT: I couldn't even tell you what Kai'Sa looks like, class or abilities, anything. I'm back to being a noob right now.

Easiest comparison would be Minecraft but w/ Vikings and a more mature rating. Where Minecraft is more sandbox, Valheim is about combat, exploration and survival. Unlike Minecraft, how you build matters as far as having to have proper load barring structures or else everything will fall apart. There are a number of bosses and biomes, each time you kill a boss you can progress in the ore that you're able to mine. Like copper -> iron -> silver -> blackmetal. Each ore comes with upgraded weapons, gear, and building pieces. Eating/cooking is very important, you're constantly gathering veggies/fruit & meats until you can make farms. It's a really fun game.

Into A3 now with my Oathkeeper in Grim Dawn. Since it had been a while since I last played, I'm playing pretty thoroughly and not rushing through my first time through. I decided to go Inquisitor for my second class - which I believe officially makes me a Paladin now - and am just starting to slowly spec into that tree. There's only a couple things I want, and plan to mainly keep Oathkeeper skills, at least for now. I'm absolutely crushing everything now :D

This is an excellent video on traffic control in C:S. I took a break for a bit to play Grim Dawn, but planning to pick back up again when Airports comes out in a couple weeks. I was going to pick up in my current city since I've had good success with it, but now I'm thinking I might start fresh. This is both efficient and also looks excellent.

After binging the hell out of FE on Friday and Sat I've been taking it easy. My team is very OP at Chapter 10, just before the big time jump. Just recruited Tharja and I may finally give her her wish of pairing off with Robin/Avatar. I'd forgotten how obsessed she was. It's disturbing/hilarious.

Tharja: ......
Robin: Tharja? ...Are you following me?
Tharja: ...Maybe.
Robin: Maybe?! I've seen you hiding behind tents and wagons all week!
Tharja: So you finally noticed...my love.
Robin: Sorry, what? Your...love?
Tharja: Oh yes. I realized it the first moment we locked eyes. "He isn't like the others," I thought. "He's the one I've been seeking!"
Robin: Riiiiight. Well, um, thank you? ...I guess?
Tharja: That's why I've been watching your every...single...move. Yesterday you read two books and part of a third. You snacked on an apple. And last night, you turned over 12 times in your sleep. ...Well below your average.
Robin: You've been watching me sleep?!
Tharja: I thought you'd be grateful.
Robin: No, I think "disturbed" is more the word. You mean to tell me you've been following me every single day since we met?
Tharja: ...Yes.
Robin: I suddenly feel very ill.
Tharja: Don't worry. I'll take care of you. ...Veeery good care.
Robin: Coming from a normal friend, I'd probably be happy to hear that. But somehow when you say it, it's not quite so comforting...
Tharja: Is that what you want, Robin? Someone..."normal"?
Robin: Well, I...suppose? That's to say—
Tharja: All I needed to hear.
Robin: Wait, Tharja! Stay here! ...Where I can see you! Oh gods, this will not end well...

Also re: FE I started this play though thinking I would optimize my party for inherited traits and compatibility, but I can't bring myself to do it. I'm going pure marriage simulator, again, with characters that I just like together. Donny and Lissa, Chrom and Sumia, Viron and Sully, Avatar and Lucina, only because it reminds me of the Anthony Jeselnik, "Hey buddy, I'm f*cking your daughter" joke.

Has anyone played Lost Ark? I know there were a couple betas, and it's been available in other markets/through VPN for years. I'm not sure if it's a game I'll like or not. MMO-ARPG, and it looks heavily P2W. I certainly won't be purchasing any of their starter packs, but wondering if I'll even try it out at launch.

Can you give some more detail? Everything I've read points to P2W. You can buy cosmetics that have stat buffs. In end-game, gear sounds like an absolutely enormous grind, where you can buy them instantly with cash. This is a big contrast to something like POE, which is just cosmetics and stash space.

ETA: I've watched that vid. That's what P2W is, lol. It doesn't mean you can't play it, or you have to pay, but paying makes it significantly easier. And it certainly sounds like it does.

One PVP has absolutely zero grind requirements. It's just build/skill vs build/skill. Dungeons have gear, but you won't get carried by having better gear. If you're **** at the mechanics you're going to die
