Richards can give Dame the high screen he loves and needs, and then sprint to the hoop, forcing the defense into an impossible decision: let Richards dunk, or leave Green, Middleton, Trent, or Prince open in the corner, with Giannis on the other side making a 45 cut (which gives him a 1v1 and a head of steam attacking the basket).

I don’t know why but this post reminds me of when Miles Plumlee caught a couple Giannis lobs in March and April and we paid him 50 million bucks.

Agree, but one of the things to like about Richards is he makes just $5 million a season, both this year and next.

Bruno Fernando is out there for minimum

For good reason. He hustles, but he's not good at anything

Amick’s saying it’s actually the Bucks who are less likely to want to make a Jimmy deal happen, which seems to have been missed in the headlines.

Sam Amick: What I’ve been told is Memphis for sure was told that Jimmy Butler does not want to go there. The Milwaukee thing admittedly, I’m a little confused by because it’s been confirmed in a couple of spots, but I was told from somebody who 100% would and should know that Jimmy’s camp had not spoke on Milwaukee… Now there has been chatter about the Bucks and the idea of them kicking it [a Butler trade] around. I probably move off that possibility; I don’t sense a lot of eagerness from the Buck’s side to go down that road

Has Amick ever had a trade scoop? I don’t remember one. I feel like he just regurgitates info from others and then puts a little twist on it.

Probably no more insane than trading Tony Snell and a first round pick for Jon Leuer.

It feels like this team is ready to make a big move. If there’s any sense that Butler would be open to Milwaukee, Horst is going to be very interested. He likes to make the splashy move, for better or worse.

Amick has sources, but they’re almost exclusively West coast-based (Warriors, Lakers, Kings, etc.). To a much lesser degree, he’s the Athletic’s new Shams because of info that gets fed to him by the big markets.

I still think a Butler-Suns trade will happen. But I’m betting we’re a strong backup option for Jimmy’s camp if they strike out on a deal with Phoenix-Miami-3rd team?

I think I'd rather have Charles Bassey than Nick Richards.

That tells me that maybe we haven't actually included the 2031 1st in whatever initial offer we floated out. Was probably something like Khris and their choice of Brook or Bobby.

By the time expansion happens the roster will be much different than it is now.

TheProfessor wrote:Hey Bucks fans, Just wanted to know if in an expansion draft what 8 players are you protecting? Remember 1 player must be unprotected from the draft and player/team options can also be protected. Thanks guys. Also what would you be willing to give up to protect one of your players from not being selected.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Yeah, that might be a hard no from us... playing hardball because of the public nature of the request. Lottery protect the pick though imo

Brook or Bobby is an interesting gambit in that 1 of those to has been arguably our 3rd best overall player (when you include D and those 2 blocks per game) .... despite losing minutes recently to small teams-- which is smart

We're trying to win a championship so we're going to trade a starter/rotation fixture in an in-season salary dump? Definitely more insane. That Snell move was contextually essential.

I can’t hear Jon Leuer’s name without thinking of Paschke and one of the worst highlight calls of all time. Rather than just laying out after Giannis took Jon’s soul, he quipped “Jon Leuer! I know you used to play here…ya don’t anymore!!”

Nothing substantial to add to this discussion. Just utterly lame.

Just realized the Bucks have two of the top 5 3pt% shooters in the league on the same team(Prince/AJ). I also read, Trent has the highest 3pt% over the last 2 months of anybody in the league. This bodes well for the playoffs, Giannis has never had this level of shooting accuracy around him in his entire career. The outside shooting of the Bucks after the championship run was just abysmal, and the main reason why they lost against Boston in '22 I think.

We’ll see if those %’s roll over into the playoffs because for most spot up shooters, they don’t. Bucks have always had decent regular season shooters but they always fall off in the playoffs when the intensity rises. I think it’s more important to have guys who can do a little bit after the closeout comes and attack that which I think those guys can. It also helps that Aj green is a real two way player too.

Maybe, but Khris Middleton played in more playoff games last year than those 3 combined.
