My impression from following the conversation today is that CyberPunk on a base PS4 is an unplayable disaster. it's not just buggy, it's legitimately not a consumer product right now.

What I've gathered too.

Not that many of you would’ve bought it, I wouldn’t even have myself, but I was gifted CoD Black Ops Cold War on PS5 and it’s just awful. Can’t believe people paid $70 for it.

Now that they're making the battle royale mode free or at least separate, I doubt I'll ever pay for a CoD game again. I honestly enjoyed their sort of lame multiplayer modes and I enjoy their campaigns but you blow through the campaign in a couple days and my friends would rather play BR so I never actually play the multiplayer modes. Just sold my Modern Warfare copy for $30 today and I feel like I suckered the buyer.

100% agree. I love WZ BR and I have no need for a full version. Will probably sell this gift after a little bit of time with it.

I definitely experience FOMO when it comes to new game releases so I’m struggling with not buying Cyberpunk while trying to plug away at AC Valhalla.

Me too! Just a little disappointed that they didn't even put a year down. Second year in a row with a trailer. Feels like it's an ES6 type of deal.

It had the unfortunate situation where it was released on the heals of The Witcher 3. Inquisition was the typical open world fetch quest crap, and TW3 came around and knocked it outta the water.

It came out almost eight months earlier, and in the prior generation. But point taken, it doesn't have the quest development W3 does. I think that's pretty unfair, though, because even in 2020, nothing has the side quest development W3 has.
DA:I was wonderful. It doesn't hold up as well today - I think much more because of the combat than the quests - but that didn't make it a really bad game at all. Side quests aside, the story and character development, as well as the world and lore, are all AAA worthy to this day.

DragonAge is one of my favorite series ever and based solely on the lore/story telling in Inquisition, it was damn near perfect for me. W3 was a very very good game but the story to me wasn't that great, it did do a fantastic job making every quest count though. I think going forward, most games of that genre will copy it and hopefully ditch the boring "collect/kill X things and report back".

I'm with you. I'm a long time W3 "hater" (I still recognize it as incredible gaming achievement), mostly because I hate the lack of choice in character development - which, though by design, really sucks if you're like me an melee is the absolute last thing you choose to play - and the non-side quests story just wasn't that compelling to me. The side quests literally kept me playing that game. I mean, they really are incredible. No disputing that.
And of course, Dragon Age ride-or-die. It's my favorite gaming world, hands down.

It's cool that they have an accessibility award. Watch Dogs Legion having the ability to switch reticule color is really nice. I have protan color blindness (red/green that moreso affects shades/hues of many colors rather than, like, confusing a stoplight), and color options in most games are absolute ****, if they even exist at all.

Anyone check out the reveals from the Game Awards today?
Back 4 Blood (loved L4D)
Hoods Outlaws and Legends (Two teams of 4 compete to steal treasure and escape alive, PvPvE)
Crimson Desert (some of the most visceral combat I’ve ever seen in a game)
2021 shaping up nicely

If I had any confidence left in BioWare I’d be excited

I enjoyed Inquisition (was one of the first games I played on my XB1), but I honestly couldn't tell you one thing about the story that was memorable. Making the maps more open-world was long overdue, and I actually enjoyed the combat much more than Witcher 3 (which I found tedious as hell). The problem with it is the same problem I have with W3 though......it's not Skyrim.

Lore wise, DAI and the expansions were pretty huge. From the Solas reveal to the Inquistor Ameridan being an elf who believed in both the Maker and Elven gods. My favorite bit of info during The Descent - dwarf that was connected to the fade and had mage power.
ETA - The Seekers of Truth have always been able to reverse the Rites of Tranquility, that was pretty huge too.
