The Lakers losing the play-in game would be hilarious. But if they lose the first and win the second for the 8th seed and then win the championship, well, we'll never hear the end of it.SupremeHustle wrote:The Lakers dropping to the 7th seed is something to root for.

Sadly, I don’t see any way they could have stopped LeBron. Gordon is a decent defender, but LeBron makes decent defenders look like Jabari Parker. I can picture LeBron dropping 50 on MPJ each game. It would’ve taken some really hot Murray nights to beat LA.
Scrapped with the Lakers in the bubble.

If the basketball Gods gave me the choice of the Bucks being the #1 seed, or the Lakers dropping to the #7 seed, I'd have to think about it...lol.

How fast would the NBA scrap the whole play-in thing if it ends up costing their precious Lakers a playoff spot.
Would be pretty cool if it came down to the Lakers and Warriors for the #8 seed and Steph goes off for like 60.

A Lakers vs Warriors play-in game would give the league the best TV ratings in forever.

I'd guess LBJ would be completely unstoppable in a play-in scenario.

Philly and Boston worry me if it was a 1 game series, but not a chance in best of 7.

Simmons had 5/6/5 in 35 minutes against the Spurs. What a weird ass player.

Yeah, with an excellent wing defender in Jerami Grant and a worse Lakers supporting cast the Lakers beat them 4-1. The Nuggets only shot was LeBron being injured.

Yeah, with the help of refs turning a blind eye to calls they should've made, the Lakers beat them 4-1. The Nuggets only shot was LeBron being injured.
ftfy, Dwight had license to body people in illegal ways, LeBron hacked Murray going up to the basket a few times. LBJ got away with standing in Jokic's landing zone on a 3pt attempt, while the rest of the NBA was penalized every time throughout the playoffs for the same action.
We saw Giannis graze Butler after he got a shot off & get whistled, vs Miami. Flash to LeBron straight up hitting Murray twice in the act of shooting but no call. Denver was very much so in that series but for referees calling biased games.

The play in game is working exactly like it was designed. It's made the remaining games for teams sitting 5-7 SO much more important this year than they would have been in past seasons.

Schroder is saying he and Lebron aren't vaccinated. Wonder what other stars aren't vaccinated and I wonder if we see a situation where a star has to go to protocol, than suddenly 9 other players were in close proximity as well just so they are forced to postpone the game.

At this point, if you have to put so many player in protocol that you can’t play it should just be a forfeit. The vaccine is widely available for everyone.

What I wouldn't give to see one of those teams sputter to the finish into the 9 spot and see what they have to say about being alive.

Is it possible that when LeBron was talking about a storm that is coming, he meant the Lakers playing in the play-in games?

I guess I didn't think it was a possibility that the Lakers could slip into the 6/7/8 spot even after the injuries. Silver has to be hitting the panic button right about now.

I could easily see them getting bounced in the first round. The Lakers don't scare me at all.
