Loving reliving this championship run: Heat game 1. Giannis played the 4th quarter with a dinged arm. Khris the shot was incredible but I almost forgot Jrue had an incredible block of butler with 0.5 seconds left. I've also enjoyed seeing Giannis and Jrue tag team butler into being just a speed bump. (Giannis is called for a 10 second violation late in the game)
Heat game 2. First quarter. Heat 20pts vs Forbes 14pts. he's also playing great defense, game of his life he can tell his grandchildren about. The deer district crowd keeps growing. It was full of tables in game one, the tables are starting to disappear with a couple thousand fans behind the table section.
Other notables: ariza's most notable move in the playoffs was trying to do a push up on Giannis's dick. Dragic with a bitch move trying to trip Khris. Giannis showing us he could have played soccer.
Heat game 3: boring slug fest. No team in the first half could hit a shot beyond 10 feet. Yet the bucks are built with the ability to win ugly. Just attack the paint attack the boards and make life miserable for the other team on defense. Amazing ability to completely out rebound the heat. Midway thru the 3rd teams remember how to shoot but it's too late. Butler continues to be smothered, no complimentary players help out much. Bucks control comfortably throughout even without shooting great. Heat are dead in the water when they can't hit their 3s,bucks keep trucking.
In the 4th quarter, heat fans start counting during Giannis's free throw routine. IT STARTED HERE! Jim and MJ joke about it a bit, oh little did we know what a big deal this was going to turn into.
Heat game 4: you know that pain when the bucks are farting around and just look meh? Well the first half is meh, minus Bryn Forbes with 13 in the second quarter. Heat intensity is higher but they can't pull too far ahead. Bucks crawl back into it in the third and take over eventually. Dragic fake wrestling on Khris is embarrassing. Bryn was worth it just with him eliminating the heat. Giannis first triple double in playoffs, 3rd in bucks history. 15 beautiful assists. The 4th quarter is MUST RE- WATCH. OMG IT'S BEAUTIFUL!
Crowd chants "overrated!" when Middleton goes to the line in the second. Maybe only DD is chanting along at home. Oh miami, how Khris is going to prove you and the rest of the world wrong.
I just love this thread so much. I'm fully convinced that nothing in sports will ever be as satisfying as this title run...that is unless my son manages to play pro ball (he's 5 and has my genes, so it's a pretty safe bet he won't).
The trendy pick to be bounced in the first round. Left for dead by the world after two horrendous games to start the Brooklyn series. Pissed away game 5 only to somehow finish the Nets off in 6 and 7. Squander our momentum to open the Hawks series. Regain our form momentarily before Giannis nearly breaks his leg in two. At that point, all hope of any championship aspirations were gone in the blink of an eye; I was just hoping he could return at some point in 21-22. The rest of the team rallies to take down the Hawks without Giannis. (I'm crying now). What seemed too good for even the sappiest of Hollywood scripts comes true and THE MAN returns somehow, someway. After, again, being left for dead being in the hole two games, we get THE BLOCK, THE STEAL, THE VALLEY OOP and the 50! to win it on our home court, culminate the decade-long joke of a rally cry that is anything but that now and exorcize 50 years of heartache.
I know we all know this story, but will the new season almost upon us, its wonderful to sit back and think of just how f***ing improbable ND glorious it all was.
Was thinking of my favourite Mike Breen calls for the series. Think my top 3 are.
The spin move, the finish, Giannis does it again - After his pump fake into spin move layup on Ayton in game 6. This building is shaking - After Midds hits the contested layup after Paul loses the ball in game 4 Shot blocked by Antetokounmpo - Giannis blocks Ayton game 4

Go Bucks!
After the bucks go up 2-0 on miami Jim and MJ put up a stat saying teams going down 0-2 in an NBA series historically have a 6%+ chance of winning the series. Basically saying miami's odds are not good. I was like... Wait a minute, we basically do that twice!
So I Googled it and sure as ****, the number is now 7% listing the bucks vs Brooklyn and bucks vs suns as the Most two exceptions. We just bumped the odds up slightly.

Brooklyn Series: Game 1 & Game 2 (too painful to watch, I just reviewed the highlights). Game 3:THIS GAME IS INSANE!!!! It's like watching a movie the second time and still going nuts even though you saw it a couple months ago!! Giannis goes like 1-9 from 3, it's so painful He misses the first 7 or 8, it's PAINFUL. This is the game Tucker and Durant have their beef and idiot body guard runs onto the court. Bucks have an amazing first quarter and a ridiculously awful 2nd quarter. 3rd quarter is close back and forth but bucks are usually ahead by a basket. And then the 4th quarter is SO PAINFUL. You guys know this team can resort to annoying AF basketball. **** ISO crap and turnovers and just **** basketball. The entire 4th quarter is like that!!! with 3 minutes left the bucks are 3/19 for the quarter!!! But even nets are missing a lot, Brook is playing outstanding defense in the paint (he has like 6 blocks). This is also the downfall of Joe Harris, where he just starts to miss everything.
Khris has had a pathetic series so far, but he has been huge in game 3 in all aspects, scoring, rebounding, he's everywhere, except the first 10 minutes of the 4th he's awful. (overall him and Giannis are responsible for something like 69% of the scoring which is most ever in an NBA playoff game). Khris hits two midrange jumpers after it seems an impossibly long time with under 3 minutes left. But KD matches them.
Then KD does it. Game tied at 80-80, he hits an incredible contested 3 with Tucker all in his face. It's OVER! GAME OVER! NAIL IN THE COFFIN, IT'S A SWEEP down 0-3 FORGETABOUT IT!
Nets largest lead, guys the game's **** over! Bucks have been clinging to the slightest lead or tie all game, and Durant with a minute left with the dagger and momentum. You've seen this story 1000 times before as a bucks fan.
YOU LITERALLY NEED TO RE-WATCH THE LAST 3 MINUTES OF THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!
Khris hits a shot to make it 82-83 1:17, there's some missed shots and hectic play, Brown with under 20 seconds missed a jump shot with another contest from LOPEZ, Holiday who hasn't done **** on offense (4/14 on the night) Doesn't take a time out, goes **** HERO BALL, drives spins, LAYUP and SCORES!!!!!!! 11.1 seconds. (84-83) FORGET THE DURANT TOE AND GAME 7 NONE OF IT MATTERS IF JRUE HOLIDAY DOESN'T **** MAKE THAT LAYUP. IT'S SO **** CLUTCH!!!! THIS MOMENT CHANGES EVERYTHING!!!! These guys couldn't pay their way into making a basket all quarter, especially Jrue, and he **** goes coast to coast and takes it to the cup like a mother Fn'g champ! **** me, OMG.
Nets Inbound goes wrong, crazy hyper active defense, brown somehow gets the ball and with a couple seconds left goes for a short jumper but BROOK AGAIN with the contest. 2.8 seconds bucks rebound!. Zadarius smith is going nuts, Aaron Jones is going crazy, F. Forum is insane.
A couple free throws SUPER CLUTCH FT's by Middleton later nets have 2.4 seconds for one last shot to tie 83-86.
KD with a desperate shot with tucker in his face almost makes it but hits back iron (OMG It'S LIKE A **** MOVIE FORESHADOWING THINGS TO COME!!!!") game over!
I'm literally so pumped after game 3 I can't even take it. Jrue Holiday, Brook Lopez, Khris Middleton. Wow. The layup by Jrue, the Defense by Brook, the all round game and clutch play of Khris. Just rewatch the last 5 minutes of this game. Seriously there's no drug that can compare to this.
Look in realtime I celebrated this game, but part of me was my usual Bucks loser mode. Thinking. They kicked our ass in 2 games away, and we BARELY won by the skin of our teeth at home. I would be way more confident if we had a resounding W in game 3. Sure we should celebrate, but we will probably get our ass kicked game 5 and 6. If we can barely beat them in our house, how do we have a chance the rest of the way?
Game 4:
Did not have the closeout drama of the previous one. But this game was violent! Several injuries and lots of physical activity.
Bucks had 5-6 point lead when kyrie goes down in the second qtr with an ankle injury, no foul called on the play. Later on Connaughton gets a forearm to the face and is bloody beneath the basket, he goes out to get his cut glued together, no foul. Even PJ gets body checked into the front row by Blake on a screen, he goes out for a while, no foul.
There were other other physical plays, bucks kept up with tight defense, the nets were discombobulated without kyrie , bucks slowly are pulling ahead. Refs switch gears and start calling everything and the game slows to a crawl. A 10-12pt lead seems like the 80s where it's a solid lead.
Surprisingly Nash raises the white flag midway through the 4th behind only 14pts and clears the bench. Seems he's wants to save the team for game 5 at home, probably thinks they should be fine with 2 out of 3 at home. Maybe we wants to regroup back home because the game was quite physical.
What he doesn't realize if it hasn't happened yet, he's awakened a sleeping giant. This team BELIEVES they can win.

Go Bucks!
My oldest son is also five and I'm not convinced him going pro could match that run. For all the reasons mentioned. You take that improbability, down 1-0, 2-0, 2-0, Giannis's injury, and combine it with the life-long suffering of a Bucks fan... I don't know. The basketball element is one thing. Unselfish players following their unselfish superstar to the promised land with highlight reel play after highlight reel play, under the most intense pressure they've faced in their athletic careers. Everyone buying into TEAM.
Then combine all of that with Giannis' story. The human element of it all. Son of immigrants who did everything they could to make a better life. Giannis not even recognized as Greek until it was found out he could hoop a little. Combine THAT with the fact that our key contributors are, by all accounts, fantastic human beings. I mean, it can't be topped. Ever. It just can't. I guess maybe if Giannis ends up with more rings than MJ, maybe... But that first one, even if its the only one, will be easily the most satisfying sports thing in my life. And I'm so very grateful for it.

I couldn't find any stores selling Suns gear. Probably best since I would have gotten charged for loitering.

It's amazing, he doesn't even want to watch it, he's so focused on the upcoming season. This guy is so special.
So Khris yelled: “Throw the ball to Giannis so he can make 50!”. That’s the greatest team mate. No jealousy at all.
Imagine someone telling you 8 years ago, one day that random 2nd rounder thrown in the Jennings trade and the 18 year old Greek non-lotto pick would eventually lead us to a title. I think that storyline is amazing from the outside, can only imagine how much appreciation Giannis and Khris have for one another experiencing it. So beautiful
This was a fun thread to browse through the night before the next season begins. Crazy to see how many folks are still on this board since the last time I logged in six years back. Hope you all have been well.
I did not eat fire and we won a title. You’re welcome.

I'm convinced in Game 1 the Bucks through about 2.5 quarters were playing fine and to their strengths of D and crushing the glass, then they tried to outshoot the Nets but couldn't hit a 3 to save their life, Nets pulled away and game over. I remember thinking that Gianni came to play but everyone else looked horrified. Game 2 was a wipeout but Game 1 was also there for the taking, so to speak. Obviously, as was Game 5.
I agree about that Game 3. It was a late-90s slugfest reincarnated. And that Jrue coast-to-coast layup was a mega nutsack type of action. Remember he also took and made two big time shots in Game 7 after another poo-poo offensive showing.
"Wes, Hill, Ibaka, Allen, Nwora, Brook, Pat, Ingles, Khris are all slow-mo, injury prone ... a sandcastle waiting for playoff wave to get wrecked. A castle with no long-range archers... is destined to fall. That is all I have to say."-- FOTIS

Agreed the ugly 3pt shooting doomed them game 1.
And it's just amazing to me how many big shots this team made throughout the playoffs. Im so used to this team folding when the other team hits a big shot and takes over momentum and we fumble it all away.
How many times have we let a team hang around and then in crunch time they hit the big play and we can't even get off a shot? Or we just turn the ball over 2-3 times in a row? It's too many to count. I'm used to watching our bucks choke away any hope of victory.
To suddenly have bucks players do the exact opposite. It's just all so shocking. It's three months since then but I'm still amazed.
