Re: Giannis Thread - Proposed Trade Ideas Here
Honestly I still don’t necessarily believe he did ask for a trade. But I ant know if they’d tell doc if he did. I’m sure he alluded to it.
I’ll believe it when we see the trade alert.
What sucks is if Horst could’ve hit one maybe one draft pick we wouldn’t be in this situation.

I believe Doc as much as I believe in the world being flat.

I’ve rolled my eyes so hard they’re now at the back of my head. So tired of this game.

Re: Giannis Thread - Proposed Trade Ideas Here
Is there any chance we tell Giannis we’ll get this settled in the off season once the draft order is settled?
There’s some potential generational talent in at least the top three of this draft. Starting over with say Dybantsa is about as good a return as we could hope for.
I get it’s risky the longer we wait but the lottery is such a **** show now that I’d rather wait for it to be settled first. Then again, maybe we’ll get the Flagg special if we get this done in an NBA “approved” manner

I don’t get this narrative around Luka. He doesn’t strike me as that kind of guy. Is there anything to support it?

All I know is I’m not trading him anywhere to “do right by him.” He is a reason we are in this mess. I love him. I love what he’s done for the city and the franchise, but you trade him where you get the most return. If he wants to pick his spot he can do it when he’s a free agent.

Trade him to Portland and reunite him with both Dame and Jrue for the irony.

If it's real, I can get behind the Hawks trade but would need to do it immediately and play point Bobby with Kuz and Sims 40 min a game and walk away with Johnson and 2 top 10 picks with a 40% shot of one of those being top 3.

Was thinking with Vivek you get a high draft pick this year and possibly in the future even with Giannis because of the mismanagement

Re: Giannis Thread - Proposed Trade Ideas Here
I’ve somewhat checked out on the bucks but here is what I would do;
Fire doc first, see if it turns around, guessing not
Trade Giannis for some pieces that fit around KPJ and Rollins, not sure anything else on this roster matters
Trade Turner for at least a first and salary relief
Trade Portis for salary relief and some seconds
Trade Kuzma for salary relief
I’m inclined to wait until after the lottery so we can try to maximize high end talent. But I get that might not happen plus we have our pick this season so bottoming out might be wise (actually maybe that is a reason to keep Doc)
If there are two lottery picks on the table, I probably do that plus a few more random future picks. That would give us potentially 3 chances this year and we know how the NBA loves to reward teams that trade stars with high picks, yes I think the draft is rigged still.
No idea what that brings in but this feels somewhat over due, it has been building for years.
Then I hire Hinkie and start a OKC rebuild. Double down with absorbing bad contracts for more assets if we free up money this year and next.
Hire the guy you think is the next Brad Stevens, don’t care where he comes from.
And for the love of God do not go half in and half out with any deal to try and grab the 9th seed or some other dumb ****. Gives you a chance to grab a young future star and build Rollins, KPJ and maybe AJ Green (though I think he could bring in some great trade value this season or next).
Lastly find a damn identity for this team.

Because there are almost no more moves left, Giannis (as much as I love him) has bled this team dry along with Horst. It won us a title and could've won another had everyone stayed healthy but we have almost no picks and no trade assets that move the needle.

Make sure you get back Yang Hansen with all of those picks.

Re: Giannis Thread - Proposed Trade Ideas Here
If what Doc is saying is true and if Giannis has any integrity he needs to shut this down in the strongest terms after the game tonight. Anything less than that is cowardly.

I love Giannis and think he's still a top 3 player in the NBA still but why would Atlanta do this? Jalen Johnson is only 23, averaging 23/10/7 on 63.7 TS. In 2-3 years he's going to be a better player than Giannis (more due to Giannis falling off) and his timeline matches well with a high pick.

I don't disagree but I'm hoping the rumors of his agent getting a hawks job would be true in that scenario.
Trae/Daniels/Naw/Giannis/Zinger would be pretty sick. Basically a better version of our Dame/Giannis team
