If I had to make a prediction today I'd say that's the intention.

Sounds like Brandon is getting his excuses ready for the next stretch of horrible play. This will be the story of his first 5 years in the league. A whole series of rationalizations by him and his fans to deny the simple fact that he's just not the star he fooled so many of us into thinking he was.

Right, just like you guys told us for two months in the spring of 2006 that BC would never, ever trade Charlie V. for injury prone midget TJ Ford.

Yeah, he's playing really poorly recently. Oh wait...

That was a different situation. Toronto isn't going for short-term returns now.

Just the rare "up" in an otherwise endless cascade of "downs". Considering what the all-star snub precipitated, I can only imagine how the trade rumors are going to affect his play.

Except for the fact (ignored by many) that the ups have been more frequent than the downs this season. The "down" was just really down.
By my count, it's now 27 games (in two different stretches) of good play, and 15 games of EXTREMELY poor play, which is not excused, obviously.

Herb loves to save on these travel costs for acquired players.
