Again, its fair to point out that Mello is not a plus defender and that he is a ball stopper on offense. And his career is what it is. But it is illogical to say that a current prospect (Parker) who has similar size and skills is destined for the same career pattern.

NBA Champs come in every shape and style. Even the Spurs have won with great defense and grit, as well as beautiful ball movement and balance. The Bulls had a dynasty without any bigs that could score. The 80s Celtics had the best frontcourt of all time. Showtime had a 6'10 point guard. The Bad Boys was driven by great coaching, two undersized hall of famers in the backcourt, and nasty role players. Shaq and Kobe were the best at the 5 and the 2. All this to say, no talented player should be off the table for a team in building mode. The Bucks need to acquire the most talented players they can. If Parker is that guy, there will be no "curse of Mello" hanging over him.

Annnnnd one of the 10 best players to ever play the game.

You may not like Melo, but that is ridiculous.

Some could argue that if he went to the Bulls and Rose was healthy, Melo might be #3 dog with Rose/Noah ahead of him. That team would be a contender.

#3 in terms of what exactly? Melo is probably the best scorer on that team.

I don't like Melo, but he's the best scorer on any team that doesn't have Kevin Durant on it.

This is basically what I've been thinking during this entire thread. Embiid is the best prospect but I absolutely will not be upset with any of the top 4.

I think the only way you can legitimately get pissed off in this draft is if:

1. Embiid is there at #2 and we pass on him
2. We take someone other than Wiggins/Parker/Exum at #2 if Embiid goes #1

I want Wiggins if Embiid isn't there, but I understand the rationale behind picking either Exum or Parker. That's basically where I'm at right now.

This is my nightmare scenario, but I'm almost positive it won't happen. If Embiid is there, we're taking him.

The only realistic one I can think of would be Kevin Love.

The Cavs are pretty bad though. Maybe the Lakers can revive their history of getting insane value on trades and pawn off Gasol on them or something. Like Gasol + 7 for 1.

I agree as I think Kevin Love is kind of overrated. But I just don't know of any other 'star' veteran players available that they would consider moving the first overall pick for.

Pau is a free agent though. The Cavs did try to trade for Aldridge last year but I doubt that they trade the pick.

Agreed, but I don't think there is any hard evidence to suggest this will be the case. I just seems like the popular speculation going around right now.
