Re: Official #2 Pick Thread - Ford #7: Parker
How close to the draft do we have to be for Ford to 100% nail our pick? He keeps saying Parker, Parker, Parker. Who's gonna sh*t themselves if Wiggins goes 1 and we take JP over Embiid? I mean before Embiid ever was a thought, Wiggins 1st and Parker 2nd was the way this draft was originally designed from the start when Wiggins and JP made their commitments. Hard to justify that all that has changed 1 short year later right? Idk I'm so torn, I want all 3 lol.

He's hit on draft day with Hammond's picks at a high rate: (Jennings, Sanders, Tobias, Giannis from what I recall - Luke23 compiled a list of his predictions for the past 7 drafts).

I'm not advocating taking Smart at #2 or saying that he'll be better than the undisputed top 3 in this draft. My question is asking how anybody could rank Exum above Smart let alone rank him above any of the top 3.
Appealing to authority is a fallacy, saying that he's a top pick because mock drafts and "scouts" say so is a laughable argument. What does he do better than Smart?
No I'm just poking fun at your continual arguing from ignorance angle. One of the two has the elite NBA quickness to play his game at the next level the other doesn't. If you were paying attention you wouldn't be the only one other than the guy who's posts are unreadable who needs to ask that question.

Smart and Exum are two completely different players, not sure wtf you're so pissed about. Exum will be a SG unless he's on the same floor as Knight. Exum has an elite first step already. He's going to be one of the best drive and kick players in the league. He has great vision and is incredibly crafty trying to find the rim.
Smart penetrates straight forward using his strength to get people out of his way and to finish. He's a great finisher but that will take longer to translate to the league because guys are way stronger. The leader thing really isn't much of an argument, I wouldn't want Smart leading my team anyway. I sure haven't forgotten about shoving the fan who called him a piece of crap. That's worse than getting in a fight in the locker room. He's a long stronger than Exum and that's going to go a long way for him in the league, but saying "Smart does everything better" is just funny because it's wrong.

Ford gets accurate close to the draft his earlier mocks not so much at least that's my recollection.

Re: Official #2 Pick Thread - Ford #7: Parker
There is a real bias towards foreign players at the expense ones that played in the NCAA, people just always what's behind door #2 for whatever reason. That's the reason guys like Nikoloz Tskitishvili, Andrea Bargnani, and Darko Milicic went so high, it isn't based reality besides wishful thinking. At least those guys where skilled big men, Exum is a PG maybe SG. These scouts aren't infallible, they fall for the same trends and narratives that everyone else does. An appeal to their authority is stupid since there are busts every year that get picked by these very same supposed experts.

A quick first step doesn't make an NBA player, Jennings has a quick first step too and where has that gotten him?

Right but he's proven to get the Buck's picks correct particularly on draft day because he seems to have either Hammond or someone working with him for a source to plug. He at least has their top guy at the slotted pick correct each year as well, ie: Westbrook (08) & Ross (12).
*That might not be the case this year if they feel the need to keep their cards concealed.

Well, Jennings is a huge pussy at the rim. Exum is Ginobli-like crafty at the rim. Just stop.

Nobody is appealing to authority just asking that you don't angrily shout from ignorance.

First time an Exum fan has said that he might not being some 6'6" point god. If he's a SG then he aint no where near the prospect that you guys are hyping him to be, the least important position in the NBA. Does he have the scoring skills Parker? Does he have the athleticism of Wiggins, does he have the potential of Embiid? The guy can't shoot, he's supposedly has great vision but I'll pass on taking another guy a with a top pick because he can pass.

5 minutes before the live broadcast of it, so he can go on Twitter to find out the leaked decision and then claim he got almost all his predictions right.
I think Lunardi does the same thing with his Bracketology projections.
Wiggins 1st and Parker 2nd was the way this draft was originally designed from the start when Wiggins and JP made their commitments. Hard to justify that all that has changed 1 short year later right?
ASPM:
Andrew Wiggins - 6.8
Jabari Parker - 6.9
Joel Embiid - 10.4

And for the record if you say "Exum equals Seattle, he'll never be anything special" even though in NBA scouts' minds he's a top 4 pick, then you can't spew off a bunch of **** about not being biased because that you clearly are.

Comparing a 18 year old who has done nothing to one of the most unique players in NBA history means nothing to me, I'll believe that when I see it. Juking out out Australian high schoolers who can't compete with you physically just isn't that impressive to me.

I wonder if this Philly liking Wiggins stuff isn't a smokescreen. If I had to guess right now, Philly has their eye on Embiid or Parker. Too much of a Wiggins drumbeat by a front office who seems to shrewd to let that on sitting at #3, especially when there is a decent chance he would fall to them anyway.
In any event, I would be ecstatic if Wiggins went #1, to Cleveland, Philly, or whomever. I

Henson/Knight for #8
Embiid or Wiggins at #2, Stauskas at #8, Napier at #31, Thanasis at #36, draft and stash Euro at #48...
That'd be cool.

Agree with everything except Napier. Although, if we get Wiggins at 2, I'm not sure I'd take Stauskas. I'd take Vonleh or Saric there, assuming one was available. If not, I could live with Gordon or Randle there.
