I think it's likely a matter of how much you put into the world. I absolutely love Skyrim and past ES games, but likewise I could not tell you a thing about the story. I know I needed to go to the top of a mountain, and a dragon was involved, but Skyrim to me is all about making up your own story with how you develop your character, the guilds you join, etc. I'm sure people who read all of the books and actually do the main quest love the story, though.

I don't know exactly what it is but every year around Thanksgiving/Christmas I get the urge to start another Skyrim character.

Yep, which is probably why none of the other medieval fantasy genres are up to snuff for me. I think a lot of RPG's abandon the "role-playing" element to fit a more linear narrative. Just give me a massive open world with complete character customization, tons of fun side-quests, and let me create my own story.

I'm totally down for that, too. Just serves a different purpose.

I really need to play a modded Skyrim. I've done a couple things with spells, some graphics/maps enhancements etc., but nothing big. I think I last played about a year ago and ended up putting another 60h in. Probably won't be any time soon at this point with what's coming up, but would be fun.

I'm really excited for Beyond Skyrim and hope it comes to fruition. I want to play Morrowind in the Skyrim engine.

For whatever reason I feel like it's a great winter game. The nights are long so I can just plop down in front of it and play for hours. I have it on Switch and it's actually a great portable version of my favorite game.

Took my new build in to have it looked at, turns out its a faulty motherboard. RMA isn't going to be here until February...

Oof. Brand new motherboard, right? Sucks to get a lemon, but maybe better that it happen right out of the gate rather than a month from now?

CyberPunk is so fun. Probably one of my favorite worlds(city, characters, theme)

This is unfortunate. Seen a couple PC streamers basically say the same thing (it's not even playable) and these guys have pretty expensive rigs. Looks like I'll wait until I buy a PS5 a year from now and it's patched into oblivion.

Huh? I’m playing on a 1060ti and it runs fine on high settings. The PS4 version should have never come out honestly, but it’s hard out there getting next gen consoles

Wonderful way of looking at it. I think I’m going to return it and get a different one, even if it costs a little more.

Just relaying what they're saying, and it's not like these guys don't know their stuff. Apparently there's a game-breaking bug some are getting that literally prevents you from advancing the main story. Obviously some people aren't having any issues and/or negligible ones, but it seems like a sizable portion of the gaming community is straight up saying it's an unplayable mess. Still have faith that the barebones are there for a revolutionary game, but it's really a bummer that this is becoming more and more common. Developers need more time to iron out the bugs and make these AAA-level titles playable at launch.

I have a very new rig and was able to squeeze a couple hours in last night. I9-9900K & RTX 2080 super card and was able to run high settings with ray tracing, no lags or any issues. Didn't see any bugs yet (knock on wood) but not very far into the main storyline. Beautiful game.

Ah I you were talking about bugs. Yeah I haven’t really seen any crazy ones but I’ve barely had a chance to dive into it

Stadia has a deal going on now through December 18th that if you buy Cyberpunk2077 ($59.99) you get the $100 premium version of Stadia (chrome cast ultra and the controller) for free. Cyberpunk on Stadia grades out just as good and in many cases better than the next gen consoles. It's a great deal if you haven't been able to get the new ps5/Xbox but still want to play Cyberpunk.

Looking at last minute gifts for my girlfriend - thinking about AirPods but not sure if they’re crap. Anyone recommend them?

Regular ones or the AirPod Pros or whatever (the ones with the rubberized tips)? My partner has the latter and absolutely loves them.

I have AirPods Pro and like them a lot. Apple's hard headphones don't fit in my ears and I can't stand them but the Pros work great for me.
