Never seen The Pacific before, despite seeing Band of Brothers half a dozen times. A veritable who's who of That Guys.

It is a beautiful rendering of an incomprehensible undertaking. My dad’s dad was an intelligence officer who reported directly to McArthur. I know it is cliche, but the freedoms and privilege we know are connected to the way that generation responded to those great challenges.

One thing I didn't realize the first time watching it was Will Poulter was talking about Carmy when he talked about running up against a chef that was better than him. I don't know why but that kind of blows my mind a bit and reframes a lot of the show.

I watched that episode last night and am punching myself in the head that I didn't think of this.

The Bear S2E3 (Sydney's tour of Chicago)
Spoiler:
This one was cool for me personally as I lived in Chicago for 17 years. I recognized every restaurant that had closed and had been to almost all of them. Weird they had Schoolyard on there which was a dorky bro bar with bad food but anyway....They also used real Chicago restaurant people. The actual owner of Avec, the actual servers at Kasama, actual Chicago restaurant people in actual Chicago restaurants (not sure if the guys she tried to poach in the alley were real though). I thought that was a cool love letter to a great restaurant town.

Looking for something to binge on Netflix or Prime. A series that's already over with. Is Manifest worth a watch?

Thanks.

I watched You hurt my feelings starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus. It was decent.

The Last Kingdom

Yeah that's a good one. I liked Goliath on Prime, 4 seasons, Billy Bob Thorton I like. JK Simmons (who I also like) was a regular in the last season.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I finally got around to watching Suits recently and very much enjoyed it. It just moved from Prime over to Netflix (but I think the final season was still on Prime last time I looked).

Here's your reminder that season three of Warrior returns tomorrow and that you should get caught up if need be.

I would definitely pass on Manifest. I did it and I regret it.

Echo a lot of the sentiments. Last Kingdom is fun for sure.

I know I'm way behind but with new born at home finally watching Succession and through S1, partly through S2. Considering me whelmed. Like I didn't know what I was getting into but was hoping closer to The Wire in terms of plot/characters. I guess i didn't realize it was more of a comedy but it feels really surface level plot with edgy moments. More of a guilty pleasure than a show I actually like.

Not sure if I saw negative things in here or in talking to people in the real world (or maybe misremembered something) but I'd held off on For All Mankind until last weekend. About 1.5 seasons in and I like it and vouch for it, especially if one is any kind of history interested person. Though its an alternate history, it still feels that way. Pretty solid acting all the way around, really well done cinematography/visuals, along with an interesting premise/story.

Animal Kingdom (now on Prime I believe) was fun.

Loved the first two seasons of FAM. Thought the third season was a turd.

Agreed, very good show.
